Hebrews 9

1HadΕἶχεindeedμὲνthereforeοὖνtheἡfirstπρώτηregulationsδικαιώματαof worshipλατρείαςτόandτεa sanctuaryἅγιονearthlyκοσμικόν.

2A tabernacleσκηνὴforγὰρwas preparedκατεσκευάσθηtheἡfirst [room]πρώτηinἐνwhich [were]ᾗἥbothτεthe lampstandλυχνίαandκαὶtheἡtableτράπεζαandκαὶof theἡpresentationπρόθεσιςtheτῶνbreadἄρτων,whichἥτιςis calledλέγεται[the] Holy [Place]Ἅγια·

3Behindμετὰnowδὲtheτὸsecondδεύτερονveilκαταπέτασμα[was] a tabernacleσκηνὴἡbeing calledλεγομένηthe HolyἍγιαof HoliesἉγίων,

4[the] goldenχρυσοῦνhavingἔχουσαaltar of incenseθυμιατήριονandκαὶtheτὴνarkκιβωτὸνof theτῆςcovenantδιαθήκηςhaving been covered aroundπερικεκαλυμμένηνin every partπάντοθενwith goldχρυσίῳ,inἐνwhichᾗ[was the] jarστάμνοςgoldenχρυσῆhavingἔχουσαtheτὸmannaμάνναandκαὶtheἡstaffῥάβδοςof AaronἈαρὼνἡhaving buddedβλαστήσασαandκαὶtheαἱtabletsπλάκεςof theτῆςcovenantδιαθήκης,

5Aboveὑπεράνωthenδὲitαὐτῆς[were the] cherubimΧερουβὶνof gloryδόξηςovershadowingκατασκιάζονταtheτὸmercy seatἱλαστήριον·concerningπερὶwhichὧνnotοὐκit isἔστινnow [the time]νῦνto speakλέγεινinκατὰdetailμέρος.

6These thingsΤούτωνnowδὲthusοὕτωςhaving been preparedκατεσκευασμένων,intoεἰςindeedμὲνtheτὴνfirstπρώτηνtabernacleσκηνὴνat all timesδιὰeverythingπαντὸςenterεἰσίασινtheοἱpriestsἱερεῖςtheτὰςsacred servicesλατρείαςaccomplishingἐπιτελοῦντες,

7[Enters] intoεἰςhoweverδὲtheτὴνsecondδευτέρανonceἅπαξin theτοῦyearἐνιαυτοῦonlyμόνοςtheὁhigh priestἀρχιερεύς,notοὐwithoutχωρὶςbloodαἵματος,whichὃhe offersπροσφέρειforὑπὲρhimselfἑαυτοῦandκαὶtheτῶνof theτοῦpeopleλαοῦsins of ignoranceἀγνοημάτων,

8By thisτοῦτοwas signifyingδηλοῦντοςtheτοῦSpiritπνεύματοςτοῦHolyἁγίου,[that] not yetμήπωhas been made manifestπεφανερῶσθαιtheτὴνinto theτῶνholy placesἁγίωνwayὁδὸνstillἔτιtheτῆςfirstπρώτηςtabernacleσκηνῆςhavingἐχούσηςa standingστάσιν,

9which [is]ἥτιςa symbolπαραβολὴforεἰςtheτὸνtimeκαιρὸντὸνpresentἐνεστηκότα,inκαθ’whichἣνgiftsδῶράbothτεandκαὶsacrificesθυσίαιare offeredπροσφέρονταιnotμὴbeing ableδυνάμεναιin regard toκατὰconscienceσυνείδησινto make perfectτελειῶσαιthe [one]τὸνworshipingλατρεύοντα,

10[consisting] onlyμόνονinἐπὶfoodsβρώμασινandκαὶdrinksπόμασινandκαὶvariousδιαφόροιςwashingsβαπτισμοῖς,ordinancesδικαιώματαof [the] fleshσαρκὸςuntilμέχρι[the] timeκαιροῦof reformationδιορθώσεωςbeing imposedἐπικείμενα.

11ChristΧριστὸςhoweverδὲhaving appeared asπαραγενόμενοςhigh priestἀρχιερεὺςof theτῶνhaving comeγενομένωνgood thingsἀγαθῶνbyδιὰtheτῆςgreaterμείζονοςandκαὶmore perfectτελειοτέραςtabernacleσκηνῆςnotοὐmade by handsχειροποιήτου,thatτοῦτ’isἔστινnotοὐof thisταύτηςτῆςcreationκτίσεως,

12norοὐδὲbyδι’bloodαἵματοςof goatsτράγωνandκαὶcalvesμόσχωνthroughδιὰhoweverδὲtheτοῦownἰδίουbloodαἵματος,He enteredεἰσῆλθενonce for allἐφάπαξintoεἰςtheτὰholy placesἅγια,eternalαἰωνίανredemptionλύτρωσινhaving obtainedεὑράμενος.

13Ifεἰforγὰρtheτὸbloodαἷμαof goatsτράγωνandκαὶof bullsταύρωνandκαὶ[the] ashesσποδὸςof a heiferδαμάλεωςsprinklingῥαντίζουσαtheτοὺςhaving been defiledκεκοινωμένουςsanctify [them]ἁγιάζειforπρὸςtheτὴνof theτῆςfleshσαρκὸςpurificationκαθαρότητα,

14how muchπόσῳmoreμᾶλλονtheτὸbloodαἷματοῦof ChristΧριστοῦ,whoὃςthroughδιὰ[the] SpiritπνεύματοςeternalαἰωνίουHimselfἑαυτὸνofferedπροσήνεγκενunblemishedἄμωμοντῷto Godθεῷ,will purifyκαθαριεῖtheτὴνconscienceσυνείδησινof usἡμῶνfromἀπὸdeadνεκρῶνworksἔργωνin orderεἰςτὸto serveλατρεύεινGodθεῷ[the] livingζῶντι.

15AndΚαὶbecause ofδιὰthisτοῦτοof a covenantδιαθήκηςnewκαινῆς[the] mediatorμεσίτηςHe isἐστίν,so thatὅπωςdeathθανάτουhaving taken placeγενομένουforεἰςredemptionἀπολύτρωσινof theτῶνunderἐπὶtheτῇfirstπρώτῃcovenantδιαθήκῃtransgressionsπαραβάσεωνtheτὴνpromiseἐπαγγελίανmight receiveλάβωσινthoseοἱhaving been calledκεκλημένοιof theτῆςeternalαἰωνίουinheritanceκληρονομίας.

16Whereὅπουforγὰρ[there is] a willδιαθήκη,[the] deathθάνατον[it is] necessaryἀνάγκηto establishφέρεσθαιof the [one]τοῦhaving made [it]διαθεμένου·

17A willδιαθήκηforγὰρafterἐπὶdeathνεκροῖς[is] affirmedβεβαία,sinceἐπεὶneverμήποτεit is in forceἰσχύειwhenὅτεis livingζῇthe [one]ὁhaving made [it]διαθέμενος.

18whereforeὅθενneitherοὐδὲtheἡfirstπρώτηapart fromχωρὶςbloodαἵματοςhas been inauguratedἐγκεκαίνισται·

19Having been spokenλαληθείσηςforγὰρof everyπάσηςcommandmentἐντολῆςaccording toκατὰtheτὸνlawνόμονbyὑπὸMosesΜωϋσέωςto allπαντὶtheτῷpeopleλαῷ,having takenλαβὼνtheτὸbloodαἷματῶνof calvesμόσχωνwithμετὰwaterὕδατοςandκαὶwoolἐρίουscarletκοκκίνουandκαὶhyssopὑσσώπουitselfαὐτόbothτεtheτὸbookβιβλίονandκαὶallπάνταtheτὸνpeopleλαὸνhe sprinkledἐράντισεν,

20sayingλέγων·This [is]Τοῦτοtheτὸbloodαἷμαof theτῆςcovenantδιαθήκηςwhichἧςcommandedἐνετείλατοuntoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςὁGodθεός·

21Andκαὶtheτὴνtabernacleσκηνὴνthenδὲandκαὶallπάνταtheτὰvesselsσκεύηof theτῆςministryλειτουργίαςwithτῷbloodαἵματιlikewiseὁμοίωςhe sprinkledἐράντισεν.

22Andκαὶalmostσχεδὸνwithἐνbloodαἵματιall thingsπάνταare purifiedκαθαρίζεταιaccording toκατὰtheτὸνlawνόμον,andκαὶapart fromχωρὶςblood-sheddingαἱματεκχυσίαςnotοὐthere isγίνεταιforgivenessἄφεσις.

23[It was] necessaryἈνάγκηthen [for]οὖνtheτὰindeedμὲνrepresentationsὑποδείγματαof the thingsτῶνinἐνtheτοῖςheavensοὐρανοῖςwith theseτούτοιςto be purifiedκαθαρίζεσθαι,themselvesαὐτὰhoweverδὲtheτὰheavenly thingsἐπουράνιαwith betterκρείττοσιsacrificesθυσίαιςthanπαρὰtheseταύτας.

24Notοὐforγὰρintoεἰςmade by handsχειροποίηταhas enteredεἰσῆλθενholy placesἅγιαChristΧριστός,copiesἀντίτυπαof theτῶνtrue [ones]ἀληθινῶν,butἀλλ’intoεἰςitselfαὐτὸντὸνheavenοὐρανόν,nowνῦνto appearἐμφανισθῆναιin theτῷpresenceπροσώπῳτοῦof Godθεοῦforὑπὲρusἡμῶν·

25norοὐδ’thatἵναrepeatedlyπολλάκιςHe should offerπροσφέρῃHimselfἑαυτόν,just asὥσπερtheὁhigh priestἀρχιερεὺςentersεἰσέρχεταιintoεἰςtheτὰholy placesἅγιαeveryκατ’yearἐνιαυτὸνwithἐν[the] bloodαἵματιof anotherἀλλοτρίῳ,

26Otherwiseἐπεὶit was necessary forἔδειHimαὐτὸνrepeatedlyπολλάκιςto have sufferedπαθεῖνfromἀπὸ[the] foundationκαταβολῆςof [the] worldκόσμου·Nowνυνὶhoweverδὲonceἅπαξinἐπὶ[the] consummationσυντελείᾳof theτῶνagesαἰώνωνforεἰς[the] putting awayἀθέτησινsinἁμαρτίαςbyδιὰtheτῆςsacrificeθυσίαςof HimselfαὐτοῦHe has been revealedπεφανέρωται.

27Andκαὶinκαθ’as much asὅσονit is apportionedἀπόκειταιτοῖςto menἀνθρώποιςonceἅπαξto dieἀποθανεῖν,afterμετὰthenδὲthisτοῦτο[to face] judgmentκρίσις,

28soοὕτωςalsoκαὶὁChristΧριστός,onceἅπαξhaving been offeredπροσενεχθεὶςin orderεἰςτὸof manyπολλῶνto bearἀνενεγκεῖν[the] sinsἁμαρτίας,forἐκa second timeδευτέρουapart fromχωρὶςsinἁμαρτίαςwill appearὀφθήσεταιto thoseτοῖςHimαὐτὸνawaitingἀπεκδεχομένοιςforεἰςsalvationσωτηρίαν.
