Hebrews 10
1A shadowΣκιὰνforγὰρhavingἔχωνtheὁlawνόμοςof theτῶνcomingμελλόντωνgood thingsἀγαθῶν,notοὐκthemselvesαὐτὴνtheτὴνformεἰκόναof theτῶνthingsπραγμάτων,eachκατ’yearἐνιαυτὸνwith theταῖςsameαὐταῖςsacrificesθυσίαιςwhichἃςthey offerπροσφέρουσινtoεἰςtheτὸcontinuousδιηνεκὲςneverοὐδέποτεis ableδύναταιthoseτοὺςdrawing nearπροσερχομένουςto perfectτελειῶσαι·
2Otherwiseἐπεὶnotοὐκἂνwould they have ceasedἐπαύσαντοbeing offeredπροσφερόμεναι,because ofδιὰτὸnoneμηδεμίανhavingἔχεινany longerἔτιconscienceσυνείδησινof sinsἁμαρτιῶνthoseτοὺςservingλατρεύονταςonceἅπαξhaving been cleansedκεκαθαρισμένους;
3Butἀλλ’inἐνtheseαὐταῖς[there is] a reminderἀνάμνησιςof sinsἁμαρτιῶνeveryκατ’yearἐνιαυτόν,
4Impossible [it is]ἀδύνατονindeedγὰρ[for the] bloodαἷμαof bullsταύρωνandκαὶof goatsτράγωνto take awayἀφαιρεῖνsinsἁμαρτίας.
5ThereforeδιὸcomingεἰσερχόμενοςintoεἰςtheτὸνworldκόσμονHe saysλέγει·SacrificeΘυσίανandκαὶofferingπροσφορὰνnotοὐκYou have desiredἠθέλησας,a bodyσῶμαhoweverδὲYou have preparedκατηρτίσωmeμοι·
6Burnt offeringsὁλοκαυτώματαandκαὶ[offerings] forπερὶsinἁμαρτίαςnotοὐκYou have delighted inεὐδόκησας.
7ThenτότεI saidεἶπον·BeholdἸδοὺI have comeἥκω,inἐν[the] scrollκεφαλίδιof [the] bookβιβλίουit is writtenγέγραπταιofπερὶMeἐμοῦ,τοῦto doποιῆσαι,ὁO Godθεός,theτὸwillθέλημάof Youσου.
8AboveἀνώτερονsayingλέγωνὅτιSacrificeΘυσίαςandκαὶofferingπροσφορὰςandκαὶburnt offeringsὁλοκαυτώματαandκαὶ[offerings] forπερὶsinἁμαρτίαςnotοὐκYou have desiredἠθέλησαςnorοὐδὲhave You delighted inεὐδόκησας,whichαἵτινεςaccording toκατὰ[the] Lawνόμονare offeredπροσφέρονται,
9thenτότεHe saidεἴρηκεν·BeholdἸδοὺI have comeἥκωτοῦto doποιῆσαιtheτὸwillθέλημάof Youσου·He takes awayἀναιρεῖtheτὸfirstπρῶτονthatἵναtheτὸsecondδεύτερονHe might establishστήσῃ.
10Byἐνthatᾧwillθελήματιhaving been sanctifiedἡγιασμένοιwe areἐσμὲνthroughδιὰtheτῆςofferingπροσφορᾶςof theτοῦbodyσώματοςof JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦonce for allἐφάπαξ.
11AndΚαὶeveryπᾶςindeedμὲνpriestἱερεὺςstandsἕστηκενeveryκαθ’dayἡμέρανministeringλειτουργῶνandκαὶtheτὰςsameαὐτὰςrepeatedlyπολλάκιςofferingπροσφέρωνsacrificesθυσίας,whichαἵτινεςneverοὐδέποτεare ableδύνανταιto take awayπεριελεῖνsinsἁμαρτίας.
12This [One]οὗτοςhoweverδὲoneμίανforὑπὲρsinsἁμαρτιῶνhaving offeredπροσενέγκαςsacrificeθυσίανinεἰςτὸperpetuityδιηνεκὲςsat downἐκάθισενatἐν[the] right handδεξιᾷτοῦof Godθεοῦ,
13theτὸhenceforthλοιπὸνawaitingἐκδεχόμενοςuntilἕωςshould be placedτεθῶσινtheοἱenemiesἐχθροὶof Himαὐτοῦ[as] a footstoolὑποπόδιονfor theτῶνfeetποδῶνof Himαὐτοῦ,
14By oneμιᾷforγὰρofferingπροσφορᾷHe has perfectedτετελείωκενforεἰςτὸall timeδιηνεκὲςthoseτοὺςbeing sanctifiedἁγιαζομένους.
15Bears witnessμαρτυρεῖnowδὲto usἡμῖνalsoκαὶtheτὸSpiritπνεῦματὸHolyἅγιον,afterμετὰforγὰρτὸhaving saidεἰρηκέναι·
16This [is]ΑὕτηtheἡcovenantδιαθήκηthatἣνI will makeδιαθήσομαιwithπρὸςthemαὐτοὺςafterμετὰtheτὰςdaysἡμέραςthoseἐκείνας,saysλέγει[the] Lordκύριος,puttingδιδοὺς[the] lawsνόμουςof Meμουintoἐπὶ[the] heartsκαρδίαςof themαὐτῶν,andκαὶintoἐπὶtheτὴνmindδιάνοιανof themαὐτῶνI will inscribeἐπιγράψωthemαὐτούς,
17andκαὶTheτῶνsinsἁμαρτιῶνof themαὐτῶνandκαὶtheτῶνlawless actsἀνομιῶνof themαὐτῶνnoοὐnotμὴwill I rememberμνησθήσομαιany moreἔτι·
18Whereὅπουnowδὲforgivenessἄφεσιςof these [is]τούτων,no longer [is there]οὐκέτιan offeringπροσφορὰforπερὶsinἁμαρτίας.
19HavingἜχοντεςthereforeοὖν,brothersἀδελφοί,confidenceπαρρησίανforεἰςtheτὴνenteringεἴσοδονtheτῶνholy placesἁγίωνbyἐνtheτῷbloodαἵματιof JesusἸησοῦ,
20whichἣνHe dedicatedἐνεκαίνισενfor usἡμῖνa wayὁδὸνnewπρόσφατονandκαὶlivingζῶσανthroughδιὰtheτοῦveilκαταπετάσματος,thatτοῦτ’isἔστινtheτῆςfleshσαρκὸςof Himαὐτοῦ,
21and [having]καὶa priestἱερέαgreatμέγανoverἐπὶtheτὸνhouseοἶκοντοῦof Godθεοῦ,
22we should draw nearπροσερχώμεθαwithμετὰa sincereἀληθινῆςheartκαρδίαςinἐνfull assuranceπληροφορίᾳof faithπίστεως,having been sprinkled cleanῥεραντισμένοι[our]τὰςheartsκαρδίαςfromἀπὸa conscienceσυνειδήσεωςevilπονηρᾶςandκαὶhaving been washedλελουσμένοι[our]τὸbodyσῶμαwith waterὕδατιpureκαθαρῷ·
23We should hold fastκατέχωμενto theτὴνconfessionὁμολογίανof [our]τῆςhopeἐλπίδοςfirmlyἀκλινῆ,faithfulπιστὸςfor [is]γὰρthe [One]ὁhaving promisedἐπαγγειλάμενος·
24Andκαὶwe should thinkκατανοῶμενone anotherἀλλήλουςtowardεἰςstirring upπαροξυσμὸνto loveἀγάπηςandκαὶto goodκαλῶνworksἔργων,
25notμὴforsakingἐγκαταλείποντεςtheτὴνassembling togetherἐπισυναγωγὴνof ourselvesἑαυτῶν,asκαθὼς[is the] customἔθοςwith someτισίν,butἀλλὰencouraging [one another]παρακαλοῦντες,andκαὶso muchτοσούτῳmoreμᾶλλονasὅσῳyou seeβλέπετεdrawing nearἐγγίζουσανtheτὴνDayἡμέραν.
26[If] willinglyἙκουσίωςforγὰρsinἁμαρτανόντωνweἡμῶνafter [we are]μετὰτὸto receiveλαβεῖνtheτὴνknowledgeἐπίγνωσινof theτῆςtruthἀληθείας,no longerοὐκέτιforπερὶsinsἁμαρτιῶνremainsἀπολείπεταιa sacrificeθυσία,
27terrifyingφοβερὰhoweverδέa certainτιςexpectationἐκδοχὴof judgmentκρίσεωςandκαὶof fireπυρὸςfuryζῆλοςto devourἐσθίεινbeing aboutμέλλοντοςtheτοὺςadversariesὑπεναντίους.
28Having set asideἀθετήσαςanyoneτις[the] lawνόμονof MosesΜωϋσέωςwithoutχωρὶςmerciesοἰκτιρμῶνon the basis ofἐπὶtwoδυσὶνorἢthreeτρισὶνwitnessesμάρτυσινhe diesἀποθνῄσκει·
29How muchπόσῳthink youδοκεῖτεworseχείρονοςwill he deserveἀξιωθήσεταιpunishmentτιμωρίαςthe [one]ὁtheτὸνSonυἱὸντοῦof Godθεοῦhaving trampled uponκαταπατήσας,andκαὶtheτὸbloodαἷμαof theτῆςcovenantδιαθήκηςordinaryκοινὸνhaving esteemedἡγησάμενοςbyἐνwhichᾧhe was sanctifiedἡγιάσθη,andκαὶtheτὸSpiritπνεῦματῆςof graceχάριτοςhaving insultedἐνυβρίσας.
30We knowοἴδαμενforγὰρthe [One]τὸνhaving saidεἰπόντα·MineἘμοὶ[is] vengeanceἐκδίκησις,Iἐγὼwill repayἀνταποδώσω·andκαὶagainπάλιν·Will judgeΚρινεῖ[the] Lordκύριοςtheτὸνpeopleλαὸνof Himαὐτοῦ.
31[It is] a fearful thingφοβερὸντὸto fallἐμπεσεῖνintoεἰς[the] handsχεῖραςof Godθεοῦ[the] livingζῶντος.
32RememberἈναμιμνῄσκεσθεhoweverδὲtheτὰςformerπρότερονdaysἡμέρας,inἐνwhichαἷςhaving been enlightenedφωτισθέντεςa greatπολλὴνconflictἄθλησινyou enduredὑπεμείνατεof sufferingsπαθημάτων,
33thisτοῦτοindeedμὲνby revilingsὀνειδισμοῖςbothτεandκαὶtribulationsθλίψεσινbeing made a spectacleθεατριζόμενοι,thisτοῦτοnowδὲpartnersκοινωνοὶof thoseτῶνthusοὕτωςpassing through [them]ἀναστρεφομένωνhaving becomeγενηθέντες·
34Bothκαὶforγὰρwith theτοῖςprisonersδεσμίοιςyou sympathizedσυνεπαθήσατε,andκαὶtheτὴνplunderingἁρπαγὴνof theτῶνpossessionsὑπαρχόντωνof youὑμῶνwithμετὰjoyχαρᾶςyou acceptedπροσεδέξασθε,knowingγινώσκοντεςto haveἔχεινyourselvesἑαυτοὺςa betterκρείττοναpossessionὕπαρξινandκαὶabidingμένουσαν.
35Notμὴthrow awayἀποβάλητεthereforeοὖνtheτὴνboldnessπαρρησίανof youὑμῶν,whichἥτιςhasἔχειa greatμεγάληνrewardμισθαποδοσίαν,
36Of enduranceὑπομονῆςforγὰρYou haveἔχετεneedχρείανso thatἵναtheτὸwillθέληματοῦof Godθεοῦhaving doneποιήσαντεςyou may receiveκομίσησθεtheτὴνpromiseἐπαγγελίαν·
37YetἔτιforγὰρA littleμικρὸνveryὅσονwhileὅσον,the [One]ὁcomingἐρχόμενοςwill comeἥξειandκαὶnotοὐwill delayχρονίσει·
38The oneὁhoweverδὲrighteousδίκαιόςof Mineμουbyἐκfaithπίστεωςwill liveζήσεται,andκαὶifἐὰνhe might shrink backὑποστείληται,notοὐκtakes pleasureεὐδοκεῖtheἡsoulψυχήof Meμουinἐνhimαὐτῷ.
39Weἡμεῖςhoweverδὲnotοὐκareἐσμὲνof [those] drawing backὑποστολῆςtoεἰςdestructionἀπώλειαν,butἀλλὰof faithπίστεωςtoεἰς[the] preservingπεριποίησιν[of the] soulψυχῆς.
