Romans 3

1WhatΤίthen [is]οὖνtheτὸsuperiorityπερισσὸνof theτοῦJewἸουδαίου,Orἢwhat [is]τίςtheἡbenefitὠφέλειαof theτῆςcircumcisionπεριτομῆς;

2Muchπολὺinκατὰeveryπάνταwayτρόπον.Chieflyπρῶτονindeedμὲνforγὰρthatὅτιthey were entrusted withἐπιστεύθησανtheτὰoraclesλόγιατοῦof Godθεοῦ.

3Whatτίforγάρ;ifεἰdisbelievedἠπίστησάνsomeτινες,Notμὴtheἡunbeliefἀπιστίαof themαὐτῶνtheτὴνfaithfulnessπίστιντοῦof Godθεοῦwill nullifyκαταργήσει;

4Neverμὴmay it beγένοιτο·Let beγινέσθωhoweverδὲὁGodθεὸςtrueἀληθής,everyπᾶςnowδὲmanἄνθρωποςa liarψεύστης,asκαθὼςit has been writtenγέγραπται·ThatὍπωςἂνYou may be justifiedδικαιωθῇςinἐνtheτοῖςwordsλόγοιςof Youσουandκαὶwill prevailνικήσειςinἐντῷbeing judgedκρίνεσθαίYourσε.

5Ifεἰhoweverδὲtheἡunrighteousnessἀδικίαof usἡμῶνGod’sθεοῦrighteousnessδικαιοσύνηνshowsσυνίστησιν,whatτίshall we sayἐροῦμεν;[Is]μὴunrighteousἄδικοςὁGodθεὸςὁinflictingἐπιφέρωνtheτὴνwrathὀργήν;According toκατὰmanἄνθρωπονI speakλέγω.

6Neverμὴmay it beγένοιτο·Otherwiseἐπεὶhowπῶςwill judgeκρινεῖὁGodθεὸςtheτὸνworldκόσμον;

7Ifεἰhoweverδὲtheἡtruthἀλήθειατοῦof Godθεοῦinἐντῷmyἐμῷlieψεύσματιaboundedἐπερίσσευσενtoεἰςtheτὴνgloryδόξανof Himαὐτοῦ,whyτίstillἔτιalso Iκἀγὼasὡςa sinnerἁμαρτωλὸςam judgedκρίνομαι,

8And [is it]καὶnotμὴasκαθὼςwe are slanderously chargedβλασφημούμεθαandκαὶasκαθώςaffirmφασίνsome [that]τινεςusἡμᾶςto sayλέγεινὅτιLet us doΠοιήσωμενthingsτὰevilκακὰthatἵναmay comeἔλθῃtheτὰgood thingsἀγαθά;Theirὧντὸcondemnationκρίμαjustἔνδικόνisἐστιν.

9WhatΤίthenοὖν;Are we betterπροεχόμεθα;Notοὐat allπάντως,We have already chargedπροῃτιασάμεθαforγὰρJewsἸουδαίουςbothτεandκαὶGreeksἝλληναςallπάνταςunderὑφ’sinἁμαρτίανto beεἶναι,

10Asκαθὼςit has been writtenγέγραπταιὅτιNoneΟὐκthere isἔστινrighteousδίκαιοςnot evenοὐδὲoneεἷς,

11noneοὐκthere isἔστινὁunderstandingσυνίων,noneοὐκthere isἔστινὁseeking afterἐκζητῶντὸνGodθεόν·

12Allπάντεςhave turned awayἐξέκλιναν,together theyἅμαhave become worthlessἠχρεώθησαν·noneοὐκthere isἔστινis practicingποιῶνgoodχρηστότητα,notοὐκthere isἔστινso much asἕωςoneἑνός.

13A graveτάφοςhaving been openedἀνεῳγμένοςtheὁthroatλάρυγξof them [is]αὐτῶν,with theταῖςtonguesγλώσσαιςof themαὐτῶνthey keep practicing deceitἐδολιοῦσαν,[the] venomἰὸςof vipersἀσπίδων[is] underὑπὸtheτὰlipsχείληof themαὐτῶν,

14of whomὧνtheτὸmouthστόμαof cursingἀρᾶςandκαὶof bitternessπικρίαςis fullγέμει·

15swift [are]ὀξεῖςtheοἱfeetπόδεςof themαὐτῶνto shedἐκχέαιbloodαἷμα,

16ruinσύντριμμαandκαὶmiseryταλαιπωρία[are] inἐνtheταῖςpathsὁδοῖςof themαὐτῶν,

17andκαὶ[the] wayὁδὸνof peaceεἰρήνηςnotοὐκthey have knownἔγνωσαν.

18Notοὐκthere isἔστινfearφόβοςof Godθεοῦbeforeἀπέναντιtheτῶνeyesὀφθαλμῶνof themαὐτῶν.

19We knowΟἴδαμενnowδὲthatὅτιwhateverὅσαtheὁlawνόμοςsaysλέγειto thoseτοῖςunderἐνtheτῷlawνόμῳit speaksλαλεῖ,so thatἵναeveryπᾶνmouthστόμαmay be stoppedφραγῇandκαὶunder judgmentὑπόδικοςmay beγένηταιallπᾶςtheὁworldκόσμοςτῷto Godθεῷ·

20Thereforeδιότιbyἐξworksἔργωνof [the] Lawνόμουnotοὐwill be justifiedδικαιωθήσεταιanyπᾶσαfleshσὰρξbeforeἐνώπιονHimαὐτοῦ,throughδιὰforγὰρ[the] Lawνόμου[is] knowledgeἐπίγνωσιςof sinἁμαρτίας.

21NowΝυνὶhoweverδὲapart fromχωρὶςlawνόμου[the] righteousnessδικαιοσύνηof Godθεοῦhas been revealedπεφανέρωται,being borne witness toμαρτυρουμένηbyὑπὸtheτοῦLawνόμουandκαὶtheτῶνProphetsπροφητῶν,

22[the] righteousnessδικαιοσύνηnowδὲof Godθεοῦthroughδιὰfaithπίστεωςfrom JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,towardεἰςallπάνταςthoseτοὺςbelievingπιστεύοντας,Notοὐforγάρthere isἐστινdistinctionδιαστολή.

23Allπάντεςforγὰρhave sinnedἥμαρτονandκαὶfall shortὑστεροῦνταιof theτῆςgloryδόξηςτοῦof Godθεοῦ,

24being justifiedδικαιούμενοιfreelyδωρεὰνby theτῇof Himαὐτοῦgraceχάριτιthroughδιὰtheτῆςredemptionἀπολυτρώσεωςthatτῆς[is] inἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦ·

25whomὃνset forth asπροέθετοὁGodθεὸςa propitiationἱλαστήριονthroughδιὰfaithπίστεωςinἐντῷHisαὐτοῦbloodαἵματιforεἰςa showing forthἔνδειξινof theτῆςrighteousnessδικαιοσύνηςof Himαὐτοῦbecause ofδιὰtheτὴνforbearanceπάρεσινof theτῶνhaving taken place beforehandπρογεγονότωνsinsἁμαρτημάτων

26inἐνtheτῇforbearanceἀνοχῇτοῦof Godθεοῦ,forπρὸςofτὴν[the] showing forthἔνδειξινtheτῆςrighteousnessδικαιοσύνηςof Himαὐτοῦinἐνtheτῷpresentνῦνtimeκαιρῷ,forεἰςτὸto beεἶναιHimαὐτὸνjustδίκαιονandκαὶjustifyingδικαιοῦνταthe [one]τὸνofἐκfaithπίστεωςof JesusἸησοῦ.

27WhereΠοῦthen [is]οὖνtheἡboastingκαύχησις;It has been excludedἐξεκλείσθη.Throughδιὰwhatποίουprincipleνόμου;Thatτῶνof worksἔργων;Noοὐχί,butἀλλὰthroughδιὰ[the] principleνόμουof faithπίστεως.

28We reckonλογιζόμεθαthereforeγὰρto be justifiedδικαιοῦσθαιby faithπίστειa manἄνθρωπονapart fromχωρὶςworksἔργωνof the Lawνόμου.

29Orἢof JewsἸουδαίων[is He] theὁGodθεὸςonlyμόνον;notοὐχὶalsoκαὶof Gentilesἐθνῶν;Yesναὶalsoκαὶof Gentilesἐθνῶν,

30since indeedεἴπερOneεἷςὁGod [is]θεός,whoὃςwill justifyδικαιώσει[the] circumcisionπεριτομὴνbyἐκfaithπίστεωςandκαὶ[the] uncircumcisionἀκροβυστίανthroughδιὰthe [same]τῆςfaithπίστεως.

31Lawνόμονthenοὖνdo we nullifyκαταργοῦμενthroughδιὰτῆςfaithπίστεως;Neverμὴmay it beγένοιτο,Insteadἀλλὰlawνόμονwe upholdἱστάνομεν.
