Matthew 13
1InἘνtheτῇdayἡμέρᾳthatἐκείνῃhaving gone forthἐξελθὼνὁJesusἸησοῦς[from] theτῆςhouseοἰκίαςwas sittingἐκάθητοbyπαρὰtheτὴνseaθάλασσαν·
2Andκαὶwere gathered togetherσυνήχθησανtoπρὸςHimαὐτὸνcrowdsὄχλοιgreatπολλοί,so thatὥστεHeαὐτὸνintoεἰςa boatπλοῖονhaving enteredἐμβάνταsat downκαθῆσθαι,andκαὶallπᾶςtheὁcrowdὄχλοςonἐπὶtheτὸνshoreαἰγιαλὸνstoodεἱστήκει.
3AndκαὶHe spokeἐλάλησενto themαὐτοῖςmany thingsπολλὰinἐνparablesπαραβολαῖςsayingλέγων·BeholdἸδοὺwent outἐξῆλθενthe [one]ὁsowingσπείρωντοῦto sowσπείρειν.
4Andκαὶinἐντῷsowingσπείρεινof himαὐτὸνsomeἃindeedμὲνfellἔπεσενalongπαρὰtheτὴνroadὁδόν,andκαὶhaving comeἐλθόνταtheτὰbirdsπετεινὰdevouredκατέφαγενthemαὐτά.
5Otherἄλλαnowδὲfellἔπεσενuponἐπὶtheτὰrocky placesπετρώδηwhereὅπουnotοὐκit hadεἶχενsoilγῆνmuchπολλήν,andκαὶimmediatelyεὐθέωςit sprang upἐξανέτειλενthroughδιὰτὸnotμὴhavingἔχεινdepthβάθοςof soilγῆς,
6[the] sunἡλίουnowδὲhaving risenἀνατείλαντοςthey were scorchedἐκαυματίσθηandκαὶthroughδιὰtheτὸnotμὴhavingἔχεινrootῥίζανwere dried upἐξηράνθη.
7Otherἄλλαnowδὲfellἔπεσενuponἐπὶtheτὰςthornsἀκάνθας,andκαὶgrew upἀνέβησανtheαἱthornsἄκανθαιandκαὶchokedἔπνιξανthemαὐτά.
8Otherἄλλαnowδὲfellἔπεσενuponἐπὶtheτὴνsoilγῆντὴνgoodκαλὴνandκαὶwere yieldingἐδίδουfruitκαρπόν,someὃindeedμὲνa hundredfoldἑκατὸνsomeὃnowδὲsixtyἑξήκονταsomeὃnowδὲthirtyτριάκοντα.
9The [one]ὁhavingἔχωνearsὦταlet him hearἀκουέτω.
10AndΚαὶhaving come to [Him]προσελθόντεςtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶsaidεἶπανto Himαὐτῷ·Because ofΔιὰwhyτίinἐνparablesπαραβολαῖςspeak Youλαλεῖςto themαὐτοῖς;
11ὁAndδὲansweringἀποκριθεὶςHe saidεἶπενthemαὐτοῖς·BecauseὍτιto youὑμῖνit has been grantedδέδοταιto knowγνῶναιtheτὰmysteriesμυστήριαof theτῆςkingdomβασιλείαςof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶν,to themἐκείνοιςhoweverδὲnotοὐit has been grantedδέδοται.
12Whoeverὅστιςforγὰρhasἔχει,will be givenδοθήσεταιto himαὐτῷandκαὶhe will be in abundanceπερισσευθήσεται·whoeverὅστιςnowδὲnotοὐκhasἔχει,evenκαὶwhatὃhe hasἔχειwill be taken awayἀρθήσεταιfromἀπ’himαὐτοῦ.
13Because ofδιὰthisτοῦτοinἐνparablesπαραβολαῖςto themαὐτοῖςI speakλαλῶ,Becauseὅτιseeingβλέποντεςnotοὐdo they seeβλέπουσινandκαὶhearingἀκούοντεςnotοὐκdo they hearἀκούουσινnorοὐδὲdo they understandσυνίουσιν·
14Andκαὶis fulfilledἀναπληροῦταιin themαὐτοῖςtheἡprophecyπροφητείαof IsaiahἨσαΐουἡsayingλέγουσα·In hearingἈκοῇyou will hearἀκούσετεandκαὶnoοὐnotμὴunderstandσυνῆτε,andκαὶseeingβλέποντεςyou will seeβλέψετεandκαὶnoοὐnotμὴperceiveἴδητε.
15Has grown dullἐπαχύνθηforγὰρtheἡheartκαρδίαof theτοῦpeopleλαοῦthisτούτου,andκαὶwith theτοῖςearsὠσὶνbarelyβαρέωςthey have heardἤκουσαν,andκαὶtheτοὺςeyesὀφθαλμοὺςof themαὐτῶνthey have closedἐκάμμυσαν·otherwiseμήποτεthey should seeἴδωσινwith theτοῖςeyesὀφθαλμοῖςandκαὶwith theτοῖςearsὠσὶνthey should hearἀκούσωσινandκαὶwith theτῇheartκαρδίᾳthey should understandσυνῶσινandκαὶshould returnἐπιστρέψωσιν,andκαὶI will healἰάσομαιthemαὐτούς.
16Of youὑμῶνhoweverδὲblessedμακάριοι[are] theοἱeyesὀφθαλμοὶbecauseὅτιthey seeβλέπουσιν,andκαὶtheτὰearsὦταof youὑμῶνbecauseὅτιthey hearἀκούουσιν.
17TrulyἀμὴνforγὰρI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιmanyπολλοὶprophetsπροφῆταιandκαὶrighteous [men]δίκαιοιlongedἐπεθύμησανto seeἰδεῖνwhatἃyou seeβλέπετεandκαὶnotοὐκsawεἶδαν,andκαὶto hearἀκοῦσαιwhatἃyou hearἀκούετεandκαὶnotοὐκheardἤκουσαν.
18YouὙμεῖςthereforeοὖνhearἀκούσατεtheτὴνparableπαραβολὴνof the [one]τοῦhaving sownσπείραντος.
19Everyoneπαντὸςhearingἀκούοντοςtheτὸνwordλόγονof theτῆςkingdomβασιλείαςandκαὶnotμὴunderstandingσυνιέντος,comesἔρχεταιtheὁevil oneπονηρὸςandκαὶsnatches awayἁρπάζειthatτὸhaving been sownἐσπαρμένονinἐνtheτῇheartκαρδίᾳof himαὐτοῦ·Thisοὗτόςisἐστινthe [one]ὁonπαρὰtheτὴνpathὁδὸνhaving been sownσπαρείς.
20That whichὁnowδὲuponἐπὶtheτὰrocky placesπετρώδηhaving been sownσπαρείς,thisοὗτόςisἐστινthe [one]ὁtheτὸνwordλόγονhearingἀκούωνandκαὶimmediatelyεὐθὺςwithμετὰjoyχαρᾶςreceivingλαμβάνωνitαὐτόν,
21noοὐκhe hasἔχειnowδὲrootῥίζανinἐνhimselfἑαυτῷbutἀλλὰtemporaryπρόσκαιρόςisἐστιν,having comeγενομένηςhoweverδὲtribulationθλίψεωςorἢpersecutionδιωγμοῦon account ofδιὰtheτὸνwordλόγονimmediatelyεὐθὺςhe falls awayσκανδαλίζεται.
22That whichὁnowδὲamongεἰςtheτὰςthornsἀκάνθαςhaving been sownσπαρείς,thisοὗτόςisἐστινthe [one]ὁtheτὸνwordλόγονhearingἀκούων,andκαὶtheἡcareμέριμνατοῦpresent ageαἰῶνοςthisτούτουandκαὶtheἡdeceitἀπάτητοῦof richesπλούτουchokeσυμπνίγειtheτὸνwordλόγον,andκαὶunfruitfulἄκαρποςit becomesγίνεται.
23Thatὁhoweverδὲonἐπὶtheτὴνgoodκαλὴνsoilγῆνhaving been sownσπαρείς,thisοὗτόςisἐστινthe [one]ὁtheτὸνwordλόγονhearingἀκούωνandκαὶunderstandingσυνιείς,whoὃςindeedδὴbrings forth fruitκαρποφορεῖandκαὶproducesποιεῖsomeὃindeedμὲνa hundredfoldἑκατὸνsomeὃnowδὲsixtyἑξήκονταsomeὃnowδὲthirtyτριάκοντα.
24AnotherἌλληνparableπαραβολὴνput He beforeπαρέθηκενthemαὐτοῖςsayingλέγων·Has become likeὩμοιώθηtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνa manἀνθρώπῳhaving sownσπείραντιgoodκαλὸνseedσπέρμαinἐνtheτῷfieldἀγρῷof himαὐτοῦ.
25Inἐνnowδὲthe [time]τῷare sleepingκαθεύδεινtheτοὺςmenἀνθρώπουςcameἦλθενhisαὐτοῦὁenemyἐχθρὸςandκαὶsowedἐπέσπειρενweedsζιζάνιαin [the]ἀνὰmidstμέσονof theτοῦwheatσίτουandκαὶwent awayἀπῆλθεν.
26Whenὅτεnowδὲsproutedἐβλάστησενtheὁplantsχόρτοςandκαὶfruitκαρπὸνproducedἐποίησεν,thenτότεappearedἐφάνηalsoκαὶtheτὰweedsζιζάνια.
27Having come to [him]προσελθόντεςnowδὲtheοἱservantsδοῦλοιtheτοῦmaster of the houseοἰκοδεσπότουsaidεἶπονto himαὐτῷ·SirΚύριε,notοὐχὶgoodκαλὸνseedσπέρμαdid you sowἔσπειραςinἐντῷyourσῷfieldἀγρῷ;Howπόθενthenοὖνhas itἔχειthe weedsζιζάνια;
28ὁAndδὲhe saidἔφηto themαὐτοῖς·An enemyἘχθρὸςa manἄνθρωποςthisτοῦτοdidἐποίησεν.οἱAndδὲthe servantsδοῦλοιto himαὐτῷsaidλέγουσιν·Do you desireΘέλειςthenοὖν[that] having gone forthἀπελθόντεςwe should gatherσυλλέξωμενthemαὐτά;
29ὁAndδέhe saidφησιν·NoΟὔ,lestμήποτεgatheringσυλλέγοντεςtheτὰweedsζιζάνιαyou would uprootἐκριζώσητεwithἅμαthemαὐτοῖςtheτὸνwheatσῖτον·
30Allowἄφετεto grow togetherσυναυξάνεσθαιbothἀμφότεραuntilμέχριtheτοῦharvestθερισμοῦ·andκαὶinἐνthe timeκαιρῷof theτοῦharvestθερισμοῦI will sayἐρῶto theτοῖςharvestersθερισταῖς·GatherΣυλλέξατεfirstπρῶτονtheτὰweedsζιζάνιαandκαὶbindδήσατεthemαὐτὰintoεἰςbundlesδέσμαςin orderπρὸςτὸto burnκατακαῦσαιthemαὐτά,τὸνandδὲthe wheatσῖτονgather togetherσυναγάγετεintoεἰςtheτὴνbarnἀποθήκηνof meμου.
31AnotherἌλληνparableπαραβολὴνput He beforeπαρέθηκενthemαὐτοῖςsayingλέγων·LikeὉμοίαisἐστὶνtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνto a grainκόκκῳof mustardσινάπεως,whichὃνhaving takenλαβὼνa manἄνθρωποςsowedἔσπειρενinἐνtheτῷfieldἀγρῷof himαὐτοῦ·
32whichὃsmallestμικρότερονindeedμένisἐστινof allπάντωνtheτῶνseedsσπερμάτων,whenὅτανhoweverδὲit is grownαὐξηθῇgreaterμεῖζονthan theτῶνgarden plantsλαχάνωνit isἐστὶνandκαὶbecomesγίνεταιa treeδένδρον,so thatὥστεcomeἐλθεῖνtheτὰbirdsπετεινὰof theτοῦairοὐρανοῦandκαὶperchκατασκηνοῦνinἐνtheτοῖςbranchesκλάδοιςof itαὐτοῦ.
33AnotherἌλληνparableπαραβολὴνspoke Heἐλάλησενto themαὐτοῖς·LikeὉμοίαisἐστὶνtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνto leavenζύμῃ,whichἣνhaving takenλαβοῦσαa womanγυνὴhidἐνέκρυψενinεἰςof flourἀλεύρουmeasuresσάταthreeτρίαuntilἕωςof itοὗwas leavenedἐζυμώθηallὅλον.
34These thingsΤαῦταallπάνταspokeἐλάλησενὁJesusἸησοῦςinἐνparablesπαραβολαῖςto theτοῖςcrowdsὄχλοις,andκαὶwithoutχωρὶςa parableπαραβολῆςnotοὐδὲνHe was speakingἐλάλειto themαὐτοῖς·
35so thatὅπωςmight be fulfilledπληρωθῇthatτὸhaving been spokenῥηθὲνbyδιὰtheτοῦprophetπροφήτουsayingλέγοντος·I will openἈνοίξωinἐνparablesπαραβολαῖςtheτὸmouthστόμαof Meμου,I will utterἐρεύξομαιthings hiddenκεκρυμμέναfromἀπὸ[the] foundationκαταβολῆς.
36ThenΤότεhaving dismissedἀφεὶςtheτοὺςcrowdsὄχλουςHe wentἦλθενintoεἰςtheτὴνhouseοἰκίαν.Andκαὶcameπροσῆλθονto Himαὐτῷtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶof Himαὐτοῦsayingλέγοντες·ExplainΔιασάφησονto usἡμῖνtheτὴνparableπαραβολὴνof theτῶνweedsζιζανίωνof theτοῦfieldἀγροῦ.
37ὁAndδὲansweringἀποκριθεὶςHe saidεἶπεν·The [One]ὉsowingσπείρωνtheτὸgoodκαλὸνseedσπέρμαisἐστὶνtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου·
38ὁandδὲthe fieldἀγρόςisἐστινtheὁworldκόσμος·τὸandδὲthe goodκαλὸνseedσπέρμα,theseοὗτοίareεἰσινtheοἱsonsυἱοὶof theτῆςkingdomβασιλείας·τὰandδὲthe weedsζιζάνιάareεἰσινtheοἱsonsυἱοὶof theτοῦevil [one]πονηροῦ,
39ὁandδὲthe enemyἐχθρὸςὁhaving sownσπείραςthemαὐτάisἐστινtheὁdevilδιάβολος·ὁandδὲthe harvestθερισμὸς[the] consummationσυντέλειαof the ageαἰῶνόςisἐστιν,οἱandδὲthe harvestersθερισταὶangelsἄγγελοίareεἰσιν.
40Asὥσπερthereforeοὖνis gatheredσυλλέγεταιtheτὰweedsζιζάνιαandκαὶin fireπυρὶto be burned upκαίεται,thusοὕτωςit will beἔσταιinἐνtheτῇconsummationσυντελείᾳof theτοῦageαἰῶνος·
41Will send forthἀποστελεῖtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουtheτοὺςangelsἀγγέλουςof Himαὐτοῦ,andκαὶthey will gatherσυλλέξουσινout ofἐκtheτῆςkingdomβασιλείαςof Himαὐτοῦallπάνταtheτὰcauses of sinσκάνδαλαandκαὶthoseτοὺςpracticingποιοῦνταςτὴνlawlessnessἀνομίαν,
42andκαὶthey will castβαλοῦσινthemαὐτοὺςintoεἰςtheτὴνfurnaceκάμινονof theτοῦfireπυρός·thereἐκεῖwill beἔσταιtheὁweepingκλαυθμὸςandκαὶtheὁgnashingβρυγμὸςofτῶνteethὀδόντων.
43ThenΤότεtheοἱrighteousδίκαιοιwill shine forthἐκλάμψουσινasὡςtheὁsunἥλιοςinἐνtheτῇkingdomβασιλείᾳof theτοῦFatherπατρὸςof themαὐτῶν.The [one]ὁhavingἔχωνearsὦταlet him hearἀκουέτω.
44LikeὉμοίαisἐστὶνtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνtreasureθησαυρῷhaving been hiddenκεκρυμμένῳinἐνtheτῷfieldἀγρῷ,whichὃνhaving foundεὑρὼνa manἄνθρωποςhidἔκρυψεν,andκαὶforἀπὸtheτῆςjoyχαρᾶςof itαὐτοῦgoesὑπάγειandκαὶhe sellsπωλεῖallπάνταthatὅσαhe hasἔχειandκαὶbuysἀγοράζειtheτὸνfieldἀγρὸνthatἐκεῖνον.
45AgainΠάλινlikeὁμοίαisἐστὶνtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνa manἀνθρώπῳa merchantἐμπόρῳseekingζητοῦντιfineκαλοὺςpearlsμαργαρίτας·
46having foundεὑρὼνnowδὲoneἕναvery preciousπολύτιμονpearlμαργαρίτηνhaving gone awayἀπελθὼνhe has soldπέπρακενall thingsπάνταas many asὅσαhe hadεἶχενandκαὶboughtἠγόρασενitαὐτόν.
47AgainΠάλινlikeὁμοίαisἐστὶνtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνa dragnetσαγήνῃhaving been castβληθείσῃintoεἰςtheτὴνseaθάλασσανandκαὶofἐκeveryπαντὸςkindγένουςhaving gathered togetherσυναγαγούσῃ·
48whichἣνwhenὅτεit was filledἐπληρώθηhaving drawn upἀναβιβάσαντεςonἐπὶtheτὸνshoreαἰγιαλὸνandκαὶhaving sat downκαθίσαντεςthey collectedσυνέλεξανtheτὰgoodκαλὰintoεἰςvesselsἄγγη,theτὰandδὲbadσαπρὰoutἔξωthey castἔβαλον.
49Thusοὕτωςwill it beἔσταιinἐνtheτῇconsummationσυντελείᾳof theτοῦageαἰῶνος·will go outἐξελεύσονταιtheοἱangelsἄγγελοιandκαὶwill separateἀφοριοῦσινtheτοὺςevilπονηροὺςfromἐκ[the] midstμέσουof theτῶνrighteousδικαίων
50andκαὶwill castβαλοῦσινthemαὐτοὺςintoεἰςtheτὴνfurnaceκάμινονof theτοῦfireπυρός·Thereἐκεῖwill beἔσταιtheὁweepingκλαυθμὸςandκαὶtheὁgnashingβρυγμὸςof theτῶνteethὀδόντων.
51Have you understoodΣυνήκατεthese thingsταῦταallπάντα;They sayλέγουσινto Himαὐτῷ·YesΝαί.
52ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·Because ofΔιὰthisτοῦτοeveryπᾶςscribeγραμματεὺςhaving been discipledμαθητευθεὶςinto theτῇkingdomβασιλείᾳof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνlikeὅμοιόςisἐστινa manἀνθρώπῳa master of a houseοἰκοδεσπότῃwhoὅστιςputs forthἐκβάλλειout ofἐκtheτοῦtreasureθησαυροῦof himαὐτοῦ[things] newκαινὰandκαὶoldπαλαιά.
53Andκαὶit came to passἐγένετοwhenὅτεhad finishedἐτέλεσενὁJesusἸησοῦςtheτὰςparablesπαραβολὰςtheseταύτας,He withdrewμετῆρενfrom thereἐκεῖθεν.
54Andκαὶhaving comeἐλθὼνintoεἰςtheτὴνregionπατρίδαHis [own]αὐτοῦHe was teachingἐδίδασκενthemαὐτοὺςinἐνtheτῇsynagogueσυναγωγῇof themαὐτῶν,so thatὥστεare astonishedἐκπλήσσεσθαιtheyαὐτοὺςandκαὶare sayingλέγειν·From whereΠόθενto this [man]τούτῳtheἡwisdomσοφίαthisαὕτηandκαὶtheαἱmiraculous powersδυνάμεις;
55Notοὐχthisοὗτόςisἐστινtheὁof theτοῦcarpenterτέκτονοςSonυἱός;[Is] notοὐχtheἡmotherμήτηρof HimαὐτοῦcalledλέγεταιMaryΜαριὰμAndκαὶtheοἱbrothersἀδελφοὶof HimαὐτοῦJamesἸάκωβοςandκαὶJosephἸωσὴφandκαὶSimonΣίμωνandκαὶJudasἸούδας;
56Andκαὶtheαἱsistersἀδελφαὶof Himαὐτοῦnotοὐχὶallπᾶσαιwithπρὸςusἡμᾶςareεἰσιν;From whereπόθενthenοὖνto this [man]τούτῳthese thingsταῦταallπάντα;
57Andκαὶthey were offendedἐσκανδαλίζοντοatἐνHimαὐτῷ.ὁButδὲJesusἸησοῦςsaidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·NotΟὐκisἔστινa prophetπροφήτηςwithout Honorἄτιμοςifεἰnotμὴinἐνtheτῇhometownπατρίδιandκαὶinἐνtheτῇhouseholdοἰκίᾳof himαὐτοῦ.
58AndκαὶnotοὐκHe didἐποίησενthereἐκεῖmiraclesδυνάμειςmanyπολλὰςbecause ofδιὰtheτὴνunbeliefἀπιστίανof themαὐτῶν.
