Matthew 12
1AtἘνthatἐκείνῳτῷtimeκαιρῷwentἐπορεύθηὁJesusἸησοῦςon theτοῖςSabbathsσάββασινthroughδιὰtheτῶνgrainfieldsσπορίμων·οἱandδὲthe disciplesμαθηταὶof Himαὐτοῦwere hungryἐπείνασανandκαὶthey beganἤρξαντοto pluck [the]τίλλεινheads of grainστάχυαςandκαὶto eatἐσθίειν.
2οἱAndδὲthe PhariseesΦαρισαῖοιhaving seenἰδόντεςsaidεἶπανto Himαὐτῷ·BeholdἸδοὺtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταίof Youσουare doingποιοῦσινwhatὃnotοὐκit is lawfulἔξεστινto doποιεῖνonἐνSabbathσαββάτῳ.
3ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·NotΟὐκyou have readἀνέγνωτεwhatτίdidἐποίησενDavidΔαυὶδwhenὅτεhe was hungryἐπείνασενandκαὶthoseοἱwithμετ’himαὐτοῦ;
4howπῶςhe enteredεἰσῆλθενintoεἰςtheτὸνhouseοἶκοντοῦof Godθεοῦandκαὶtheτοὺςloavesἄρτουςof theτῆςpresentationπροθέσεωςthey ateἔφαγον,whichὃnotοὐκlawfulἐξὸνit wasἦνfor himαὐτῷto eatφαγεῖνnorοὐδὲfor thoseτοῖςwithμετ’himαὐτοῦ,ifεἰnotμὴfor theτοῖςpriestsἱερεῦσινonlyμόνοις;
5Orἢnotοὐκhave you readἀνέγνωτεinἐνtheτῷlawνόμῳthatὅτιon theτοῖςSabbathσάββασινtheοἱpriestsἱερεῖςinἐνtheτῷtempleἱερῷtheτὸSabbathσάββατονprofaneβεβηλοῦσινandκαὶguiltlessἀναίτιοίareεἰσιν;
6I sayλέγωhoweverδὲto youὑμῖνthatὅτιtheτοῦtempleἱεροῦa greater thanμεῖζόνisἐστινhereὧδε.
7Ifεἰhoweverδὲyou had knownἐγνώκειτεwhatτίisἐστιν·MercyἜλεοςI desireθέλωandκαὶnotοὐsacrificeθυσίαν,notοὐκἂνyou would have condemnedκατεδικάσατεtheτοὺςguiltlessἀναιτίους.
8Lordκύριοςforγάρisἐστινof theτοῦSabbathσαββάτουtheὁSonυἱὸςofτοῦManἀνθρώπου.
9AndΚαὶhaving departedμεταβὰςfrom thereἐκεῖθενHe wentἦλθενintoεἰςtheτὴνsynagogueσυναγωγὴνof themαὐτῶν·
10Andκαὶbeholdἰδοὺa manἄνθρωποςa handχεῖραhavingἔχωνwitheredξηράν.Andκαὶthey askedἐπηρώτησανHimαὐτὸνsayingλέγοντες·IsΕἰit lawfulἔξεστιon theτοῖςSabbathsσάββασινto heal?θεραπεύειν;so thatἵναthey might accuseκατηγορήσωσινHimαὐτοῦ.
11ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·WhatΤίςwill there beἔσταιamongἐξyouὑμῶνmanἄνθρωποςwhoὃςwill haveἕξειsheepπρόβατονoneἕν,andκαὶifἐὰνfallsἐμπέσῃitτοῦτοon theτοῖςSabbathsσάββασινintoεἰςa pitβόθυνον,notοὐχὶwill he take hold ofκρατήσειitαὐτὸandκαὶwill raise [it] upἐγερεῖ;
12How muchπόσῳthereforeοὖνis more valuableδιαφέρειa manἄνθρωποςthan a sheepπροβάτου.Thereforeὥστεit is lawfulἔξεστινon theτοῖςSabbathsσάββασινgoodκαλῶςto doποιεῖν.
13ThenτότεHe saysλέγειtoτῷ[the] manἀνθρώπῳ·Stretch outἜκτεινόνyourσουτὴνhandχεῖρα·Andκαὶhe stretched [it] outἐξέτεινεν,andκαὶit was restoredἀπεκατεστάθηsoundὑγιὴςasὡςtheἡotherἄλλη.
14Having gone outἐξελθόντεςnowδὲtheοἱPhariseesΦαρισαῖοιa counselσυμβούλιονheldἔλαβονagainstκατ’HimαὐτοῦhowὅπωςHimαὐτὸνthey might destroyἀπολέσωσιν.
15ὉAndδὲJesusἸησοῦςhaving knownγνοὺςwithdrewἀνεχώρησενfrom thereἐκεῖθεν.AndκαὶfollowedἠκολούθησανHimαὐτῷgreatπολλοί,andκαὶHe healedἐθεράπευσενthemαὐτοὺςallπάντας,
16andκαὶHe warnedἐπετίμησενthemαὐτοῖςthatἵναnotμὴknownφανερὸνHimαὐτὸνthey should makeποιήσωσιν,
17so thatἵναmight be fulfilledπληρωθῇthatτὸhaving been spokenῥηθὲνbyδιὰIsaiahἨσαΐουtheτοῦprophetπροφήτουsayingλέγοντος·
18BeholdἸδοὺtheὁservantπαῖςof MeμουwhomὃνI have chosenᾑρέτισα,theὁbelovedἀγαπητόςof Meμουinεἰςwhomὃνhas found delightεὐδόκησενtheἡsoulψυχήof Meμου·I will putθήσωtheτὸSpiritπνεῦμάof Meμουuponἐπ’Himαὐτόν,andκαὶjusticeκρίσινto theτοῖςGentilesἔθνεσινHe will proclaimἀπαγγελεῖ.
19Notοὐκwill He quarrelἐρίσειnorοὐδὲwill he cry outκραυγάσει,norοὐδὲwill hearἀκούσειanyoneτιςinἐνtheταῖςstreetsπλατείαιςtheτὴνvoiceφωνὴνof Himαὐτοῦ.
20A reedκάλαμονbruisedσυντετριμμένονnotοὐHe will breakκατεάξειandκαὶa wickλίνονsmolderingτυφόμενονnotοὐHe will quenchσβέσει,untilἕωςἂνHe leadsἐκβάλῃtoεἰςvictoryνῖκοςτὴνjusticeκρίσιν.
21Andκαὶin theτῷnameὀνόματιof Himαὐτοῦ[the] Gentilesἔθνηwill hopeἐλπιοῦσιν.
22ThenΤότεwas broughtπροσηνέχθηto Himαὐτῷ[one] possessed by a demonδαιμονιζόμενοςblindτυφλὸςandκαὶmuteκωφός·andκαὶHe healedἐθεράπευσενhimαὐτόν,in order forὥστεtheτὸνmute [man]κωφὸνto speakλαλεῖνandκαὶto seeβλέπειν.
23Andκαὶwere amazedἐξίσταντοallπάντεςtheοἱcrowdsὄχλοιandκαὶwere sayingἔλεγον·WhetherΜήτιthisοὗτόςisἐστινtheὁsonυἱὸςof DavidΔαυίδ;
24οἱAndδὲthe PhariseesΦαρισαῖοιhaving heardἀκούσαντεςsaidεἶπον·This [man]Οὗτοςnotοὐκcasts outἐκβάλλειtheτὰdemonsδαιμόνιαifεἰnotμὴbyἐντῷBeelzebulΒεελζεβοὺλprinceἄρχοντιof theτῶνdemonsδαιμονίων.
25Having knownεἰδὼςnowδὲtheτὰςthoughtsἐνθυμήσειςof themαὐτῶνHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·EveryΠᾶσαkingdomβασιλείαhaving been dividedμερισθεῖσαagainstκαθ’itselfἑαυτῆςis brought to desolationἐρημοῦται,andκαὶeveryπᾶσαcityπόλιςorἢhouseοἰκίαhaving been dividedμερισθεῖσαagainstκαθ’itselfἑαυτῆςnotοὐwill standσταθήσεται.
26AndκαὶifεἰὁSatanΣατανᾶςτὸνSatanΣατανᾶνcasts outἐκβάλλει,againstἐφ’himselfἑαυτὸνhe is dividedἐμερίσθη·Howπῶςthenοὖνwill standσταθήσεταιtheἡkingdomβασιλείαof himαὐτοῦ;
27AndκαὶifεἰIἐγὼbyἐνBeelzebulΒεελζεβοὺλcast outἐκβάλλωτὰdemonsδαιμόνια,theοἱsonsυἱοὶof youὑμῶνbyἐνwhomτίνιdo they cast outἐκβάλλουσιν;On account ofδιὰthisτοῦτοtheyαὐτοὶjudgesκριταὶwill beἔσονταιof youὑμῶν.
28Ifεἰhoweverδὲby [the]ἐνSpiritπνεύματιof GodθεοῦIἐγὼcast outἐκβάλλωτὰdemonsδαιμόνια,thenἄραhas comeἔφθασενuponἐφ’youὑμᾶςtheἡkingdomβασιλείατοῦof Godθεοῦ.
29Orἢhowπῶςis ableδύναταίanyoneτιςto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςtheτὴνhouseοἰκίανof theτοῦstrong [man]ἰσχυροῦandκαὶtheτὰgoodsσκεύηof himαὐτοῦto plunderἁρπάσαι,ifἐὰνnotμὴfirstπρῶτονhe bindδήσῃtheτὸνstrong [man]ἰσχυρόν;Andκαὶthenτότεtheτὴνhouseοἰκίανof himαὐτοῦhe will plunderδιαρπάσει.
30The [one]ὁnotμὴbeingὢνwithμετ’Meἐμοῦagainstκατ’Meἐμοῦisἐστιν,andκαὶthe [one]ὁnotμὴgatheringσυνάγωνwithμετ’Meἐμοῦscattersσκορπίζει.
31Because ofδιὰthisτοῦτοI sayλέγωto youὑμῖν,everyπᾶσαsinἁμαρτίαandκαὶblasphemyβλασφημίαwill be forgivenἀφεθήσεταιτοῖςmenἀνθρώποις,ἡhoweverδὲagainstτοῦ[the] Spiritπνεύματοςblasphemyβλασφημίαnotοὐκwill be forgivenἀφεθήσεται.
32Andκαὶwhoeverὃςifἐὰνspeaksεἴπῃa wordλόγονagainstκατὰtheτοῦSonυἱοῦτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου,it will be forgivenἀφεθήσεταιhimαὐτῷ·whoeverὃςnowδ’ἂνspeaksεἴπῃagainstκατὰτοῦSpiritπνεύματοςtheτοῦHolyἁγίου,notοὐκit will be forgivenἀφεθήσεταιhimαὐτῷneitherοὔτεinἐνthisτούτῳτῷageαἰῶνιnorοὔτεinἐνtheτῷcoming [one]μέλλοντι.
33EitherἪmakeποιήσατεtheτὸtreeδένδρονgoodκαλὸνandκαὶtheτὸνfruitκαρπὸνof itαὐτοῦgoodκαλόν,orἢmakeποιήσατεtheτὸtreeδένδρονbadσαπρὸνandκαὶtheτὸνfruitκαρπὸνof itαὐτοῦbadσαπρόν·byἐκforγὰρtheτοῦfruitκαρποῦtheτὸtreeδένδρονis knownγινώσκεται.
34Offspringγεννήματαof vipersἐχιδνῶν,howπῶςare you ableδύνασθεgood thingsἀγαθὰto speakλαλεῖνevilπονηροὶbeingὄντες;Out ofἐκforγὰρtheτοῦabundanceπερισσεύματοςof theτῆςheartκαρδίαςtheτὸmouthστόμαspeaksλαλεῖ.
35Theὁgoodἀγαθὸςmanἄνθρωποςout ofἐκhisτοῦgoodἀγαθοῦtreasureθησαυροῦputs forthἐκβάλλειgood thingsἀγαθά,andκαὶtheὁevilπονηρὸςmanἄνθρωποςout ofἐκhisτοῦevilπονηροῦtreasureθησαυροῦputs forthἐκβάλλειevil thingsπονηρά.
36I sayλέγωnowδὲto youὑμῖνthatὅτιeveryπᾶνwordῥῆμαcarelessἀργὸνthatὃwill speakλαλήσουσινοἱmenἄνθρωποι,they will giveἀποδώσουσινofπερὶitαὐτοῦan accountλόγονinἐνdayἡμέρᾳof judgmentκρίσεως·
37Byἐκforγὰρtheτῶνwordsλόγωνof youσουyou will be justifiedδικαιωθήσῃ,andκαὶbyἐκtheτῶνwordsλόγωνof youσουyou will be condemnedκαταδικασθήσῃ.
38ThenΤότεansweredἀπεκρίθησανhimαὐτῷsomeτινεςof theτῶνscribesγραμματέωνandκαὶPhariseesΦαρισαίωνsayingλέγοντες·TeacherΔιδάσκαλε,we wishθέλομενfromἀπὸYouσοῦa signσημεῖονto seeἰδεῖν.
39ὁAndδὲansweringἀποκριθεὶςHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·A generationΓενεὰevilπονηρὰandκαὶadulterousμοιχαλὶςa signσημεῖονseeks forἐπιζητεῖ,andκαὶa signσημεῖονnotοὐwill be givenδοθήσεταιto itαὐτῇifεἰnotμὴtheτὸsignσημεῖονof JonahἸωνᾶtheτοῦprophetπροφήτου.
40Just asὥσπερforγὰρwasἦνJonahἸωνᾶςinἐνtheτῇbellyκοιλίᾳof theτοῦgreat fishκήτουςthreeτρεῖςdaysἡμέραςandκαὶthreeτρεῖςnightsνύκτας,soοὕτωςwill beἔσταιtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουinἐνtheτῇheartκαρδίᾳof theτῆςearthγῆςthreeτρεῖςdaysἡμέραςandκαὶthreeτρεῖςnightsνύκτας.
41The menἄνδρεςof NinevehΝινευῖταιwill stand upἀναστήσονταιinἐνtheτῇjudgmentκρίσειwithμετὰtheτῆςgenerationγενεᾶςthisταύτηςandκαὶwill condemnκατακρινοῦσινitαὐτήν·forὅτιthey repentedμετενόησανatεἰςtheτὸpreachingκήρυγμαof JonahἸωνᾶ,andκαὶbeholdἰδοὺgreaterπλεῖονthan JonahἸωνᾶhereὧδε.
42The queenβασίλισσαof [the] southνότουwill rise upἐγερθήσεταιinἐνtheτῇjudgmentκρίσειwithμετὰtheτῆςgenerationγενεᾶςthisταύτηςandκαὶwill condemnκατακρινεῖitαὐτήν·forὅτιshe cameἦλθενfromἐκtheτῶνendsπεράτωνof theτῆςearthγῆςto hearἀκοῦσαιtheτὴνwisdomσοφίανof SolomonΣολομῶνος,andκαὶbeholdἰδοὺgreaterπλεῖονthan SolomonΣολομῶνοςhereὧδε.
43WhenὍτανnowδὲtheτὸuncleanἀκάθαρτονspiritπνεῦμαis gone outἐξέλθῃfromἀπὸtheτοῦmanἀνθρώπου,it passesδιέρχεταιthroughδι’waterlessἀνύδρωνplacesτόπωνseekingζητοῦνrestἀνάπαυσιν,andκαὶnoneοὐχfinds [it]εὑρίσκει.
44Thenτότεit saysλέγει·ToΕἰςtheτὸνhouseοἶκόνof meμουI will returnἐπιστρέψωfrom whereὅθενI came outἐξῆλθον·Andκαὶhaving comeἐλθὸνit finds [it]εὑρίσκειbeing unoccupiedσχολάζονταsweptσεσαρωμένονandκαὶput in orderκεκοσμημένον.
45Thenτότεit goesπορεύεταιandκαὶtakesπαραλαμβάνειwithμεθ’itselfἑαυτοῦsevenἑπτὰotherἕτεραspiritsπνεύματαmore evilπονηρότεραthan itselfἑαυτοῦ,andκαὶhaving entered inεἰσελθόνταthey dwellκατοικεῖthereἐκεῖ·andκαὶbecomesγίνεταιtheτὰlastἔσχαταof theτοῦmanἀνθρώπουthatἐκείνουworseχείροναthan theτῶνfirstπρώτων.Soοὕτωςit will beἔσταιalsoκαὶuntoτῇgenerationγενεᾷthisταύτῃtheτῇevilπονηρᾷ.
46WhileἜτιAndδὲHeαὐτοῦwas speakingλαλοῦντοςto theτοῖςcrowdsὄχλοιςbeholdἰδοὺtheἡmotherμήτηρandκαὶtheοἱbrothersἀδελφοὶof Himαὐτοῦwere standingεἱστήκεισανoutsideἔξωseekingζητοῦντεςto Himαὐτῷto speakλαλῆσαι.
47Saidεἶπενnowδέsomeoneτιςto Himαὐτῷ·BeholdἸδοὺtheἡmotherμήτηρof Youσουandκαὶtheοἱbrothersἀδελφοίof youσουoutsideἔξωare standingἑστήκασιν,seekingζητοῦντέςto Youσοιto speakλαλῆσαι.
48ὁAndδὲansweringἀποκριθεὶςHe saidεἶπενto the [one]τῷtellingλέγοντιHimαὐτῷ·WhoΤίςisἐστινtheἡmotherμήτηρof Meμου,andκαὶwhoτίνεςareεἰσὶνtheοἱbrothersἀδελφοίof Meμου;
49Andκαὶhaving stretched outἐκτείναςtheτὴνhandχεῖραof Himαὐτοῦtoἐπὶtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςof HimαὐτοῦHe saidεἶπεν·BeholdἸδοὺtheἡmotherμήτηρof Meμουandκαὶtheοἱbrothersἀδελφοίof Meμου·
50Whoeverὅστιςforγὰρἂνshall doποιήσῃtheτὸwillθέλημαtheτοῦFatherπατρόςof Meμουwho [is]τοῦinἐν[the] heavensοὐρανοῖς,heαὐτόςMyμουbrotherἀδελφὸςandκαὶsisterἀδελφὴandκαὶmotherμήτηρisἐστίν.
