Revelation 18

1AfterΜετὰthese thingsταῦταI sawεἶδονanotherἄλλονangelἄγγελονdescendingκαταβαίνονταout ofἐκτοῦheavenοὐρανοῦ,havingἔχονταauthorityἐξουσίανgreatμεγάλην,andκαὶtheἡearthγῆwas illuminatedἐφωτίσθηfromἐκtheτῆςgloryδόξηςof himαὐτοῦ.

2Andκαὶhe cried outἔκραξενinἐνa mightyἰσχυρᾷvoiceφωνῇsayingλέγων·FallenἜπεσεν,Fallen isἔπεσενBabylonΒαβυλὼνtheἡgreatμεγάλη,Andκαὶshe has becomeἐγένετοa habitationκατοικητήριονof demonsδαιμονίωνandκαὶa prisonφυλακὴof everyπαντὸςspiritπνεύματοςuncleanἀκαθάρτουandκαὶa prisonφυλακὴof everyπαντὸςbirdὀρνέουuncleanἀκαθάρτουandκαὶhauntφυλακὴeveryπαντὸςbeastθηρίουuncleanἀκαθάρτουandκαὶhaving been hatedμεμισημένου,

3Forὅτιofἐκtheτοῦwineοἴνουof theτοῦwrathθυμοῦof theτῆςsexual immoralityπορνείαςof herαὐτῆςhave drunkπέπτωκανallπάνταtheτὰnationsἔθνη,andκαὶtheοἱkingsβασιλεῖςof theτῆςearthγῆςwithμετ’herαὐτῆςhave committed sexual immoralityἐπόρνευσαν,andκαὶtheοἱmerchantsἔμποροιof theτῆςearthγῆςthroughἐκtheτῆςpowerδυνάμεωςof theτοῦsensualityστρήνουςof herαὐτῆςhave been enrichedἐπλούτησαν.

4AndΚαὶI heardἤκουσαanotherἄλληνvoiceφωνὴνfromἐκτοῦheavenοὐρανοῦsayingλέγουσαν·ComeἘξέλθατε,theὁpeopleλαόςof meμου,out ofἐξherαὐτῆς,so thatἵναnotμὴyou may have fellowshipσυγκοινωνήσητεin theταῖςsinsἁμαρτίαιςof herαὐτῆς,andκαὶofἐκtheτῶνplaguesπληγῶνof herαὐτῆςso thatἵναnotμὴyou may receiveλάβητε·

5Forὅτιhave been heapedἐκολλήθησανherαὐτῆςαἱsinsἁμαρτίαιas high asἄχριτοῦheavenοὐρανοῦ,andκαὶhas rememberedἐμνημόνευσενὁGodθεὸςtheτὰiniquitiesἀδικήματαof herαὐτῆς.

6Give backἀπόδοτεto herαὐτῇasὡςalsoκαὶsheαὐτὴhas renderedἀπέδωκεν,andκαὶpay back doubleδιπλώσατεto herτὰtwofoldδιπλᾶaccording toκατὰtheτὰworksἔργαof herαὐτῆς·Inἐνtheτῷcupποτηρίῳwhichᾧshe has mixedἐκέρασενmixκεράσατεto herαὐτῇdoubleδιπλοῦν·

7So much asὅσαshe has glorifiedἐδόξασενherselfαὑτὴνandκαὶlived in luxuryἐστρηνίασεν,as muchτοσοῦτονgiveδότεto herαὐτῇtormentβασανισμὸνandκαὶmiseryπένθος.becauseὅτιinἐνtheτῇheartκαρδίᾳof herselfαὐτῆςshe saysλέγειὅτιI sitΚάθημαι[as] a queenβασίλισσα,andκαὶa widowχήραneverοὐκI amεἰμί,andκαὶmourningπένθοςneverοὐnotμὴshall I seeἴδω.

8Because ofδιὰthisτοῦτοinἐνoneμιᾷdayἡμέρᾳwill comeἥξουσινtheαἱplaguesπληγαὶof herαὐτῆς,deathθάνατοςandκαὶmiseryπένθοςandκαὶfamineλιμός,andκαὶwithἐνfireπυρὶshe will be burned upκατακαυθήσεται·becauseὅτιmighty [is the]ἰσχυρὸςLordκύριοςὁGodθεὸςthe [One]ὁhaving judgedκρίναςherαὐτήν.

9AndΚαὶwill weepκλαύσουσινandκαὶwill wailκόψονταιforἐπ’herαὐτὴνtheοἱkingsβασιλεῖςof theτῆςearthγῆςthe [ones]οἱwithμετ’herαὐτῆςhaving committed sexual immoralityπορνεύσαντεςandκαὶhaving lived luxuriouslyστρηνιάσαντες,whenὅτανthey seeβλέπωσινtheτὸνsmokeκαπνὸνof theτῆςburningπυρώσεωςof herαὐτῆς,

10fromἀπὸafarμακρόθενstandingἑστηκότεςbecause ofδιὰtheτὸνfearφόβονof theτοῦtormentβασανισμοῦof herαὐτῆςsayingλέγοντες·WoeΟὐαὶwoeοὐαί,theἡcityπόλιςἡgreatμεγάλη,BabylonΒαβυλὼνtheἡcityπόλιςἡstrongἰσχυρά,For [in]ὅτιoneμιᾷhourὥρᾳhas comeἦλθενtheἡjudgmentκρίσιςof youσου.

11AndΚαὶtheοἱmerchantsἔμποροιof theτῆςearthγῆςweepκλαίουσινandκαὶmournπενθοῦσινforἐπ’herαὐτήν,becauseὅτιtheτὸνcargoγόμονof themαὐτῶνno oneοὐδεὶςbuysἀγοράζειno longerοὐκέτι,

12cargoγόμονof goldχρυσοῦandκαὶof silverἀργύρουandκαὶof stoneλίθουpreciousτιμίουandκαὶof pearlsμαργαριτῶνandκαὶof fine linenβυσσίνουandκαὶof purpleπορφύραςandκαὶof silkσιρικοῦandκαὶof scarletκοκκίνου,andκαὶallπᾶνwoodξύλονcitronθύϊνονandκαὶeveryπᾶνarticleσκεῦοςof ivoryἐλεφάντινονandκαὶeveryπᾶνarticleσκεῦοςofἐκwoodξύλουmost preciousτιμιωτάτουandκαὶof bronzeχαλκοῦandκαὶof ironσιδήρουandκαὶof marbleμαρμάρου,

13andκαὶcinnamonκιννάμωμονandκαὶspiceἄμωμονandκαὶincenseθυμιάματαandκαὶmyrrhμύρονandκαὶfrankincenseλίβανονandκαὶwineοἶνονandκαὶoilἔλαιονandκαὶfinest flourσεμίδαλινandκαὶwheatσῖτονandκαὶcattleκτήνηandκαὶsheepπρόβατα,andκαὶof horsesἵππωνandκαὶof chariotsῥεδῶνandκαὶof slavesσωμάτων,andκαὶsoulsψυχὰςof menἀνθρώπων.

14Andκαὶtheἡripe fruitὀπώραof youσουof theτῆςdesireἐπιθυμίαςof theτῆςsoulψυχῆςare departedἀπῆλθενfromἀπὸyouσοῦ,andκαὶallπάνταtheτὰsumptuous thingsλιπαρὰandκαὶtheτὰsplendid thingsλαμπρὰhave departedἀπώλετοfromἀπὸyouσοῦ,andκαὶno longerοὐκέτιnoοὐnotμὴthemαὐτὰthey will findεὑρήσουσιν.

15Theοἱmerchantsἔμποροιof these thingsτούτων,οἱhaving been enrichedπλουτήσαντεςfromἀπ’herαὐτῆς,fromἀπὸafarμακρόθενwill standστήσονταιbecause ofδιὰtheτὸνfearφόβονof theτοῦtormentβασανισμοῦof herαὐτῆςweepingκλαίοντεςandκαὶmourningπενθοῦντες,

16sayingλέγοντες·WoeΟὐαὶwoeοὐαί,theἡcityπόλιςἡgreatμεγάλη,ἡhaving been clothed withπεριβεβλημένηfine linenβύσσινονandκαὶpurpleπορφυροῦνandκαὶscarletκόκκινονandκαὶhaving been adornedκεχρυσωμένηgoldχρυσίῳandκαὶstoneλίθῳpreciousτιμίῳandκαὶpearlμαργαρίτῃ,

17For [in]ὅτιoneμιᾷhourὥρᾳhas been brought to desolationἠρημώθηὁsuch greatτοσοῦτοςwealthπλοῦτος.AndΚαὶeveryπᾶςshipmasterκυβερνήτηςandκαὶallπᾶςthoseὁtoἐπὶa placeτόπονsailingπλέων,andκαὶsailorsναῦταιandκαὶas many asὅσοιtheτὴνseaθάλασσανtrade byἐργάζονται,atἀπὸa distanceμακρόθενstoodἔστησαν

18andκαὶcried outἔκραξανseeingβλέποντεςtheτὸνsmokeκαπνὸνof theτῆςburningπυρώσεωςof herαὐτῆςsayingλέγοντες·What [is]Τίςlikeὁμοίαtheτῇcityπόλειτῇgreatμεγάλῃ;

19Andκαὶthey castἔβαλονdustχοῦνuponἐπὶtheτὰςheadsκεφαλὰςof themαὐτῶνandκαὶcried outἔκραξανweepingκλαίοντεςandκαὶmourningπενθοῦντεςsayingλέγοντες·WoeΟὐαὶwoeοὐαί,theἡcityπόλιςἡgreatμεγάλη,inἐνwhichᾗwere enrichedἐπλούτησανallπάντεςthoseοἱhavingἔχοντεςτὰshipsπλοῖαinἐνtheτῇseaθαλάσσῃthroughἐκtheτῆςwealthτιμιότητοςof herαὐτῆς,Forὅτιin oneμιᾷhourὥρᾳshe has been brought to desolationἠρημώθη.

20RejoiceΕὐφραίνουoverἐπ’herαὐτῇ,O heavenοὐρανέ,andκαὶοἱ[you] saintsἅγιοιandκαὶοἱapostlesἀπόστολοιandκαὶοἱprophetsπροφῆται,becauseὅτιdid judgeἔκρινενὁGodθεὸςtheτὸjudgmentκρίμαfor youὑμῶνagainstἐξherαὐτῆς.

21AndΚαὶtook upἦρενoneεἷςangelἄγγελοςa mightyἰσχυρὸςstoneλίθονlikeὡςa millstoneμύλινονgreatμέγαν,andκαὶcast [it]ἔβαλενintoεἰςtheτὴνseaθάλασσανsayingλέγων·ThusΟὕτωςwith violenceὁρμήματιwill be cast downβληθήσεταιBabylonΒαβυλὼνtheἡgreatμεγάληcityπόλις,andκαὶnoοὐnotμὴshall be foundεὑρεθῇany longerἔτι.

22Andκαὶsoundφωνὴof harpistsκιθαρῳδῶνandκαὶmusiciansμουσικῶνandκαὶflute playersαὐλητῶνandκαὶtrumpetersσαλπιστῶνnoοὐnotμὴshall be heardἀκουσθῇinἐνyouσοὶany longerἔτι,Andκαὶanyπᾶςcraftsmenτεχνίτηςof anyπάσηςcraftτέχνηςnoοὐnotμὴshall be foundεὑρεθῇinἐνyouσοὶany longerἔτι,andκαὶ[the] soundφωνὴof a millstoneμύλουnoοὐnotμὴshall be heardἀκουσθῇinἐνyouσοὶany longerἔτι,

23Andκαὶ[the] lightφῶςof lampλύχνουnoοὐnotμὴshall shineφάνῃinἐνyouσοὶany longerἔτι,andκαὶ[the] voiceφωνὴof a bridegroomνυμφίουandκαὶa brideνύμφηςnoοὐnotμὴshall be heardἀκουσθῇinἐνyouσοὶany longerἔτι·forὅτιtheοἱmerchantsἔμποροίof youσουwereἦσανtheοἱgreat onesμεγιστᾶνεςof theτῆςearthγῆς,becauseὅτιbyἐνtheτῇsorceryφαρμακείᾳof youσουwere deceivedἐπλανήθησανallπάνταtheτὰnationsἔθνη,

24Andκαὶinἐνherαὐτῇ[the] bloodαἷμαof prophetsπροφητῶνandκαὶof saintsἁγίωνwas foundεὑρέθηandκαὶof allπάντωνthoseτῶνhaving been slainἐσφαγμένωνonἐπὶtheτῆςearthγῆς.
