Luke 4
1JesusἸησοῦςthenδὲfullπλήρηςof [the] SpiritπνεύματοςHolyἁγίουreturnedὑπέστρεψενfromἀπὸtheτοῦJordanἸορδάνου,andκαὶwas ledἤγετοbyἐνtheτῷSpiritπνεύματιintoἐνtheτῇwildernessἐρήμῳ
2daysἡμέραςfortyτεσσεράκονταbeing temptedπειραζόμενοςbyὑπὸtheτοῦdevilδιαβόλου.AndκαὶnotοὐκHe ateἔφαγενnothingοὐδὲνinἐνtheταῖςdaysἡμέραιςthoseἐκείναις,andκαὶhaving endedσυντελεσθεισῶνtheyαὐτῶνHe was hungryἐπείνασεν.
3Saidεἶπενthenδὲto Himαὐτῷtheὁdevilδιάβολος·IfΕἰ[the] SonυἱὸςYou areεἶτοῦof Godθεοῦ,speakεἰπὲto theτῷstoneλίθῳthisτούτῳthatἵναit should becomeγένηταιbreadἄρτος.
4AndκαὶansweredἀπεκρίθηtoπρὸςhimαὐτὸνὁJesusἸησοῦς·It has been writtenΓέγραπταιὅτιNotΟὐκonἐπ’breadἄρτῳaloneμόνῳshall liveζήσεταιtheὁmanἄνθρωπος.
5AndΚαὶhaving led upἀναγαγὼνHimαὐτὸνhe showedἔδειξενHimαὐτῷallπάσαςtheτὰςkingdomsβασιλείαςof theτῆςworldοἰκουμένηςinἐνa momentστιγμῇof timeχρόνου·
6Andκαὶsaidεἶπενto Himαὐτῷtheὁdevilδιάβολος·To YouΣοὶwill I giveδώσωtheτὴνauthorityἐξουσίανthisταύτηνallἅπασανandκαὶtheτὴνgloryδόξανof itαὐτῶν,forὅτιto meἐμοὶit has been deliveredπαραδέδοταιandκαὶto whomᾧ*ἂνI wishθέλωI giveδίδωμιitαὐτήν·
7YouσὺthereforeοὖνifἐὰνYou will worshipπροσκυνήσῃςbeforeἐνώπιονmeἐμοῦ,will beἔσταιYoursσοῦallπᾶσα.
8AndκαὶansweringἀποκριθεὶςὁJesusἸησοῦςsaidεἶπενto himαὐτῷ·It has been writtenΓέγραπται·[the] LordΚύριοντὸνGodθεόνof YouσουYou shall worshipπροσκυνήσειςandκαὶHimαὐτῷonlyμόνῳyou shall serveλατρεύσεις.
9He ledἬγαγενalsoδὲHimαὐτὸνtoεἰςJerusalemἸερουσαλὴμandκαὶsetἔστησενuponἐπὶtheτὸpinnacleπτερύγιονof theτοῦtempleἱεροῦ,andκαὶsaidεἶπενto Himαὐτῷ·IfΕἰ[the] SonυἱὸςYou areεἶτοῦof Godθεοῦ,castβάλεYourselfσεαυτὸνfrom hereἐντεῦθενdownκάτω·
10It has been writtenγέγραπταιforγὰρὅτιTo theΤοῖςangelsἀγγέλοιςof HimαὐτοῦHe will give ordersἐντελεῖταιconcerningπερὶYouσοῦτοῦto guardδιαφυλάξαιYouσε,
11andκαὶὅτιinἘπὶ[their] handsχειρῶνwill they bearἀροῦσίνYouσεso that ~ notμήποτεYou strikeπροσκόψῃςagainstπρὸςa stoneλίθονtheτὸνfootπόδαof Youσου.
12Andκαὶansweringἀποκριθεὶςsaidεἶπενto himαὐτῷὁJesusἸησοῦςὅτιIt has been saidΕἴρηται·NotΟὐκyou shall testἐκπειράσεις[the] LordκύριονtheτὸνGodθεόνof youσου.
13Andκαὶhaving finishedσυντελέσαςeveryπάνταtemptationπειρασμὸνtheὁdevilδιάβολοςdepartedἀπέστηfromἀπ’Himαὐτοῦuntilἄχριan opportune timeκαιροῦ.
14AndΚαὶreturnedὑπέστρεψενὁJesusἸησοῦςinἐνtheτῇpowerδυνάμειof theτοῦSpiritπνεύματοςtoεἰςτὴνGalileeΓαλιλαίαν.andκαὶa reportφήμηwent outἐξῆλθενintoκαθ’allὅληςtheτῆςsurrounding regionπεριχώρουconcerningπερὶHimαὐτοῦ.
15AndκαὶHeαὐτὸςwas teachingἐδίδασκενinἐνtheταῖςsynagoguesσυναγωγαῖςof themαὐτῶν,being glorifiedδοξαζόμενοςbyὑπὸallπάντων.
16AndΚαὶHe cameἦλθενtoεἰςNazarethΝαζαρά,whereοὗHe had beenἦνbrought upτεθραμμένος,andκαὶHe enteredεἰσῆλθενaccording toκατὰtheτὸcustomεἰωθὸςto Himαὐτῷonἐνtheτῇdayἡμέρᾳof theτῶνSabbathsσαββάτωνintoεἰςtheτὴνsynagogueσυναγωγήν,andκαὶstood upἀνέστηto readἀναγνῶναι.
17Andκαὶthere was givenἐπεδόθηto Himαὐτῷ[the] scroll ofβιβλίονtheτοῦprophetπροφήτουIsaiahἨσαΐουandκαὶunrollingἀναπτύξαςtheτὸscrollβιβλίονHe foundεὗρενtheτὸνplaceτόπονwhereοὗit wasἦνwrittenγεγραμμένον·
18[The] SpiritΠνεῦμαof [the] Lord [is]κυρίουuponἐπ’Meἐμέ,of whichοὗbecauseεἵνεκενHe has anointedἔχρισένMeμεto preach good newsεὐαγγελίσασθαιto [the] poorπτωχοῖς,He has sentἀπέσταλκένMeμεto proclaimκηρύξαιto [the] captivesαἰχμαλώτοιςdeliveranceἄφεσινandκαὶto [the] blindτυφλοῖςrecovery of sightἀνάβλεψιν,to send forthἀποστεῖλαι[the] oppressedτεθραυσμένουςinἐνdeliveranceἀφέσει,
19to proclaimκηρύξαι[the] yearἐνιαυτὸνof [the] Lord’sκυρίουfavorδεκτόν.
20Andκαὶhaving rolled upπτύξαςtheτὸscrollβιβλίονhaving delivered [it]ἀποδοὺςto theτῷattendantὑπηρέτῃHe sat downἐκάθισεν·andκαὶof allπάντωνtheοἱeyesὀφθαλμοὶinἐνtheτῇsynagogueσυναγωγῇwereἦσανfixed uponἀτενίζοντεςHimαὐτῷ.
21He beganἤρξατοthenδὲto sayλέγεινtoπρὸςthemαὐτοὺςὅτιTodayΣήμερονis fulfilledπεπλήρωταιtheἡScriptureγραφὴthisαὕτηinἐνtheτοῖςhearingὠσὶνof youὑμῶν.
22Andκαὶallπάντεςwere bearing witnessἐμαρτύρουνto Himαὐτῷandκαὶmarvelingἐθαύμαζονatἐπὶtheτοῖςwordsλόγοιςof theτῆςgraceχάριτοςthatτοῖςare proceedingἐκπορευομένοιςout ofἐκtheτοῦmouthστόματοςof Himαὐτοῦ,andκαὶthey were sayingἔλεγον·NotΟὐχὶthe sonυἱόςisἐστινof JosephἸωσὴφthisοὗτος;
23AndκαὶHe saidεἶπενtoπρὸςthemαὐτούς·SurelyΠάντωςyou will sayἐρεῖτέto Meμοιtheτὴνproverbπαραβολὴνthisταύτην·PhysicianἸατρέ,healθεράπευσονyourselfσεαυτόν·Whatsoeverὅσαwe have heardἠκούσαμενhas been doneγενόμεναinεἰςτὴνCapernaumΚαφαρναοὺμdoποίησονalsoκαὶhereὧδεinἐνtheτῇhometownπατρίδιof Youσου.
24He saidεἶπενthenδέ·TrulyἈμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιnoοὐδεὶςprophetπροφήτηςacceptableδεκτόςisἐστινinἐνtheτῇhometownπατρίδιof himαὐτοῦ.
25Inἐπ’truthἀληθείαςnowδὲI sayλέγωto youὑμῖν,manyπολλαὶwidowsχῆραιthere wereἦσανinἐνtheταῖςdaysἡμέραιςof ElijahἨλίουinἐντῷIsraelἸσραήλ,whenὅτεwas shut upἐκλείσθηtheὁheavenοὐρανὸςforἐπὶyearsἔτηthreeτρίαandκαὶmonthsμῆναςsixἕξ,whenὡςthere wasἐγένετοa famineλιμὸςgreatμέγαςuponἐπὶallπᾶσανtheτὴνlandγῆν,
26andκαὶtoπρὸςnoneοὐδεμίανof themαὐτῶνwas sentἐπέμφθηElijahἨλίαςifεἰnotμὴtoεἰςZarephathΣάρεπτατῆςof SidonΣιδωνίαςtoπρὸςa womanγυναῖκαa widowχήραν.
27AndκαὶmanyπολλοὶlepersλεπροὶwereἦσανinἐντῷIsraelἸσραὴλin the timeἐπὶof ElishaἘλισαίουtheτοῦprophetπροφήτου,andκαὶnoneοὐδεὶςof themαὐτῶνwas cleansedἐκαθαρίσθη,ifεἰnotμὴNaamanΝαιμὰνtheὁSyrianΣύρος.
28Andκαὶwere filledἐπλήσθησανallπάντεςwith angerθυμοῦinἐνtheτῇsynagogueσυναγωγῇhearingἀκούοντεςthese thingsταῦτα,
29andκαὶhaving risen upἀναστάντεςthey castἐξέβαλονHimαὐτὸνoutἔξωof [the]τῆςcityπόλεως,andκαὶledἤγαγονHimαὐτὸνuntoἕωςbrowὀφρύοςof theτοῦhillὄρουςuponἐφ’whichοὗtheἡtownπόλιςhad been builtᾠκοδόμητοof themαὐτῶν,in orderὥστεto throw overκατακρημνίσαιhimαὐτόν·
30Heαὐτὸςhoweverδὲhaving passedδιελθὼνthroughδιὰ[the] midstμέσουof themαὐτῶνwent awayἐπορεύετο.
31AndΚαὶHe went downκατῆλθενtoεἰςCapernaumΚαφαρναοὺμa cityπόλιντῆςof GalileeΓαλιλαίας.AndκαὶHe wasἦνteachingδιδάσκωνthemαὐτοὺςonἐνtheτοῖςSabbathsσάββασιν·
32andκαὶthey were astonishedἐξεπλήσσοντοatἐπὶtheτῇteachingδιδαχῇof Himαὐτοῦ,forὅτιwithἐνauthorityἐξουσίᾳwasἦνtheὁmessageλόγοςof Himαὐτοῦ.
33Andκαὶinἐνtheτῇsynagogueσυναγωγῇwasἦνa manἄνθρωποςhavingἔχωνa spiritπνεῦμαof a demonδαιμονίουuncleanἀκαθάρτου,andκαὶhe cried outἀνέκραξενin a voiceφωνῇloudμεγάλῃ·
34HaἜα,Whatτίto usἡμῖνandκαὶto Youσοί,JesusἸησοῦof NazarethΝαζαρηνέ;Are You comeἦλθεςto destroyἀπολέσαιusἡμᾶς;I knowοἶδάYouσεwhoτίςareεἶ,theὁHoly [One]ἅγιοςτοῦof Godθεοῦ.
35AndκαὶrebukedἐπετίμησενhimαὐτῷὁJesusἸησοῦςsayingλέγων·Be silentΦιμώθητιandκαὶcome forthἔξελθεout ofἀπ’himαὐτοῦ.Andκαὶhaving thrownῥίψανhimαὐτὸνtheτὸdemonδαιμόνιονintoεἰςtheτὸmidstμέσονit came outἐξῆλθενfromἀπ’himαὐτοῦin nothingμηδὲνhaving hurtβλάψανhimαὐτόν.
36Andκαὶcameἐγένετοastonishmentθάμβοςuponἐπὶallπάντας,andκαὶthey were speakingσυνελάλουνtoπρὸςone anotherἀλλήλουςsayingλέγοντες·WhatΤίςὁwordλόγος[is] thisοὗτοςthatὅτιwithἐνauthorityἐξουσίᾳandκαὶpowerδυνάμειHe commandsἐπιτάσσειtheτοῖςuncleanἀκαθάρτοιςspiritsπνεύμασιν,andκαὶthey come outἐξέρχονται;
37Andκαὶwas spreadingἐξεπορεύετοthe reportἦχοςconcerningπερὶHimαὐτοῦintoεἰςeveryπάνταplaceτόπονof theτῆςsurrounding regionπεριχώρου.
38Having risen upἈναστὰςthenδὲout ofἀπὸtheτῆςsynagogueσυναγωγῆςHe enteredεἰσῆλθενintoεἰςtheτὴνhouseοἰκίανof SimonΣίμωνος.[The] mother-in-lawπενθερὰthenδὲτοῦof SimonΣίμωνοςwasἦνoppressed withσυνεχομένηa feverπυρετῷgreatμεγάλῳ,andκαὶthey appealedἠρώτησανto Himαὐτὸνforπερὶherαὐτῆς.
39Andκαὶhaving stoodἐπιστὰςoverἐπάνωherαὐτῆςHe rebukedἐπετίμησενtheτῷfeverπυρετῷ,andκαὶit leftἀφῆκενherαὐτήν·immediatelyπαραχρῆμαthenδὲhaving arisenἀναστᾶσαshe began to serveδιηκόνειthemαὐτοῖς.
40At the settingΔύνοντοςnowδὲof theτοῦsunἡλίουallἅπαντεςas many asὅσοιhad [any]εἶχονailingἀσθενοῦνταςwith diseasesνόσοιςvariousποικίλαιςbroughtἤγαγονthemαὐτοὺςtoπρὸςHimαὐτόν·ὁandδὲon oneἑνὶeachἑκάστῳof themαὐτῶνtheτὰςhandsχεῖραςhaving laidἐπιτιθεὶςHe would healἐθεράπευενthemαὐτούς.
41Were going outἐξήρχετοnowδὲalsoκαὶdemonsδαιμόνιαfromἀπὸmanyπολλῶνcrying outκραυγάζονταandκαὶsayingλέγονταὅτιYouΣὺareεἶtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Godθεοῦ.Andκαὶrebuking [them]ἐπιτιμῶνnotοὐκdid He allowεἴαthemαὐτὰto speakλαλεῖν,becauseὅτιthey knewᾔδεισανtheτὸνChristχριστὸνHimαὐτὸνto beεἶναι.
42Having arrivedΓενομένηςnowδὲdaybreakἡμέραςhaving gone outἐξελθὼνHe wentἐπορεύθηintoεἰςa solitaryἔρημονplaceτόπον·andκαὶtheοἱcrowdsὄχλοιwere seekingἐπεζήτουνHimαὐτόν,andκαὶthey cameἦλθονup toἕωςHimαὐτοῦ,andκαὶwere detainingκατεῖχονHimαὐτὸνof theτοῦnotμὴto goπορεύεσθαιfromἀπ’themαὐτῶν.
43ὁButδὲHe saidεἶπενtoπρὸςthemαὐτοὺςὅτιAlsoΚαὶto theταῖςotherἑτέραιςtownsπόλεσινto preach [the] good newsεὐαγγελίσασθαίMeμεit behoovesδεῖof theτὴνkingdomβασιλείαντοῦof Godθεοῦ,becauseὅτιforἐπὶthisτοῦτοhave I been sent forthἀπεστάλην.
44AndκαὶHe wasἦνpreachingκηρύσσωνinεἰςtheτὰςsynagoguesσυναγωγὰςτῆςof JudeaἸουδαίας.
