1PaulΠαῦλοςa servantδοῦλοςof ChristΧριστοῦJesusἸησοῦ,a calledκλητὸςapostleἀπόστολος,having been set apartἀφωρισμένοςforεἰς[the] gospelεὐαγγέλιονof Godθεοῦ

2whichὃHe promised beforehandπροεπηγγείλατοthroughδιὰtheτῶνprophetsπροφητῶνof Himαὐτοῦinἐν[the] ScripturesγραφαῖςHolyἁγίαις

3concerningπερὶtheτοῦSonυἱοῦof Himαὐτοῦ,τοῦhaving comeγενομένουof [the]ἐκseedσπέρματοςof DavidΔαυὶδaccording toκατὰfleshσάρκα,

4τοῦhaving been declaredὁρισθέντοςSonυἱοῦof Godθεοῦinἐνpowerδυνάμειaccording to [the]κατὰSpiritπνεῦμαof holinessἁγιωσύνηςbyἐξresurrectionἀναστάσεως[from the] deadνεκρῶν,JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦtheτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶν,

5throughδι’whomοὗwe have receivedἐλάβομενgraceχάρινandκαὶapostleshipἀποστολὴνuntoεἰςobedienceὑπακοὴνof faithπίστεωςamongἐνallπᾶσινtheτοῖςGentilesἔθνεσινon behalf ofὑπὲρtheτοῦnameὀνόματοςof Himαὐτοῦ,

6amongἐνwhomοἷςareἐστεalsoκαὶyouὑμεῖςcalledκλητοὶof JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,

7To allπᾶσινthoseτοῖςbeingοὖσινinἐνRomeῬώμῃbelovedἀγαπητοῖςof Godθεοῦ,calledκλητοῖςsaintsἁγίοις·Graceχάριςto youὑμῖνandκαὶpeaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸGodθεοῦ[the] Fatherπατρὸςof usἡμῶνandκαὶ[the] LordκυρίουJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ.

8FirstΠρῶτονindeedμὲνI thankεὐχαριστῶtheτῷGodθεῷof meμουthroughδιὰJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦforπερὶallπάντωνof youὑμῶν,becauseὅτιtheἡfaithπίστιςof youὑμῶνis being proclaimedκαταγγέλλεταιinἐνallὅλῳtheτῷworldκόσμῳ.

9WitnessμάρτυςforγάρmyμούisἐστινὁGodθεός,whomᾧI serveλατρεύωinἐνtheτῷspiritπνεύματίof meμουinἐνtheτῷgospelεὐαγγελίῳof theτοῦSonυἱοῦof Himαὐτοῦ,howὡςunceasinglyἀδιαλείπτωςmentionμνείανof youὑμῶνI makeποιοῦμαι

10alwaysπάντοτεuponἐπὶtheτῶνprayersπροσευχῶνof meμου,imploringδεόμενοςifεἴperhapsπωςnowἤδηat lastποτὲI will make a prosperous journeyεὐοδωθήσομαιbyἐνtheτῷwillθελήματιτοῦof Godθεοῦto comeἐλθεῖνtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶς.

11I longἐπιποθῶforγὰρto seeἰδεῖνyouὑμᾶς,thatἵναsomeτιI may impartμεταδῶgiftχάρισμαto youὑμῖνspiritualπνευματικὸνtoεἰςtheτὸstrengtheningστηριχθῆναιof youὑμᾶς,

12thatτοῦτοnowδέisἐστινto be encouraged togetherσυμπαρακληθῆναιamongἐνyouὑμῖνthroughδιὰtheτῆςamongἐνone anotherἀλλήλοιςfaithπίστεωςof youὑμῶνbothτεandκαὶof meἐμοῦ.

13NotοὐI do wantθέλωnowδὲyouὑμᾶςto be ignorantἀγνοεῖν,brothersἀδελφοί,thatὅτιmany timesπολλάκιςI purposedπροεθέμηνto comeἐλθεῖνtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶς,andκαὶwas hinderedἐκωλύθηνuntilἄχριtheτοῦpresentδεῦρο,thatἵναsomeτινὰfruitκαρπὸνI might haveσχῶalsoκαὶamongἐνyouὑμῖνasκαθὼςevenκαὶamongἐνtheτοῖςotherλοιποῖςGentilesἔθνεσιν.

14To GreeksἝλλησίνbothτεandκαὶto barbariansβαρβάροις,to [the] wiseσοφοῖςbothτεandκαὶ[the] foolishἀνοήτοιςa debtorὀφειλέτηςI amεἰμί·

15Thusοὕτωςτὸas toκατ’me [there is]ἐμὲreadinessπρόθυμονalsoκαὶto youὑμῖνwho [are]τοῖςinἐνRomeῬώμῃto preach the gospelεὐαγγελίσασθαι.

16NotΟὐforγὰρI am ashamed ofἐπαισχύνομαιtheτὸgospelεὐαγγέλιον,[the] powerδύναμιςforγὰρof Godθεοῦit isἐστινuntoεἰςsalvationσωτηρίανto everyoneπαντὶτῷbelievingπιστεύοντι,to JewishἸουδαίῳbothτεfirstπρῶτονandκαὶto GreekἝλληνι·

17[The] righteousnessδικαιοσύνηforγὰρof Godθεοῦinἐνitαὐτῷis revealedἀποκαλύπτεταιfromἐκfaithπίστεωςtoεἰςfaithπίστιν,asκαθὼςit has been writtenγέγραπται·ὉAndδὲthe righteousδίκαιοςbyἐκfaithπίστεωςwill liveζήσεται.

18Is revealedἈποκαλύπτεταιforγὰρ[the] wrathὀργὴof Godθεοῦfromἀπ’heavenοὐρανοῦuponἐπὶallπᾶσανungodlinessἀσέβειανandκαὶunrighteousnessἀδικίανof menἀνθρώπωντῶνtheτὴνtruthἀλήθειανbyἐνunrighteousnessἀδικίᾳsuppressingκατεχόντων,

19becauseδιότιtheτὸknownγνωστὸντοῦof Godθεοῦmanifestφανερόνisἐστινamongἐνthemαὐτοῖς,ὁGodθεὸςforγὰρto themαὐτοῖςhas revealed [it]ἐφανέρωσεν.

20Theτὰforγὰρinvisible qualitiesἀόραταof Himαὐτοῦfromἀπὸ[the] creationκτίσεωςof [the] worldκόσμουby theτοῖςthings madeποιήμασινbeing understoodνοούμεναare clearly seenκαθορᾶται,theἥbothτεeternalἀΐδιοςof Himαὐτοῦpowerδύναμιςandκαὶdivinityθειότης,forεἰςτὸto beεἶναιthemαὐτοὺςwithout excuseἀναπολογήτους,

21Forδιότιhaving knownγνόντεςτὸνGodθεὸνnotοὐχasὡςGodθεὸνthey glorified [Him]ἐδόξασανorἢwere thankfulηὐχαρίστησαν,butἀλλὰthey became futileἐματαιώθησανinἐνtheτοῖςthinkingδιαλογισμοῖςof themαὐτῶνandκαὶwas darkenedἐσκοτίσθηtheἡfoolishἀσύνετοςof themαὐτῶνheartκαρδία·

22Professingφάσκοντεςto beεἶναιwiseσοφοὶthey became foolsἐμωράνθησαν,

23andκαὶthey changedἤλλαξανtheτὴνgloryδόξανof theτοῦimmortalἀφθάρτουGodθεοῦintoἐνa likenessὁμοιώματιof an imageεἰκόνοςof mortalφθαρτοῦmanἀνθρώπουandκαὶbirdsπετεινῶνandκαὶquadrupedsτετραπόδωνandκαὶcreeping thingsἑρπετῶν.

24ThereforeΔιὸgave upπαρέδωκενthemαὐτοὺςὁGodθεὸςinἐνtheταῖςdesiresἐπιθυμίαιςof theτῶνheartsκαρδιῶνof themαὐτῶνtoεἰςimpurityἀκαθαρσίαντοῦto dishonorἀτιμάζεσθαιtheτὰbodiesσώματαof themαὐτῶνbetweenἐνthemselvesαὐτοῖς,

25whoοἵτινεςchangedμετήλλαξανtheτὴνtruthἀλήθειαντοῦof Godθεοῦintoἐνtheτῷfalsehoodψεύδει,andκαὶreverencedἐσεβάσθησανandκαὶservedἐλάτρευσανtheτῇcreated thingκτίσειbeyondπαρὰthe [One]τὸνhaving created [it]κτίσαντα,whoὅςisἐστινblessedεὐλογητὸςtoεἰςtheτοὺςagesαἰῶνας·Amenἀμήν.

26Because ofΔιὰthisτοῦτοgave upπαρέδωκενthemαὐτοὺςὁGodθεὸςtoεἰςpassionsπάθηof dishonorἀτιμίας·αἵEvenτεforγὰρfemalesθήλειαιof themαὐτῶνchangedμετήλλαξανtheτὴνnaturalφυσικὴνuseχρῆσινintoεἰςthatτὴνcontrary toπαρὰnatureφύσιν,

27Likewiseὁμοίωςthenτεalsoκαὶtheοἱmalesἄρσενεςhaving leftἀφέντεςtheτὴνnaturalφυσικὴνuseχρῆσινof theτῆςfemaleθηλείαςwere inflamedἐξεκαύθησανinἐνtheτῇdesireὀρέξειof themαὐτῶνtowardεἰςone anotherἀλλήλους,malesἄρσενεςwithἐνmalesἄρσεσινtheτὴνshameἀσχημοσύνηνworking outκατεργαζόμενοιandκαὶtheτὴνrecompenseἀντιμισθίανwhichἣνwas fittingἔδειof theτῆςerrorπλάνηςof themαὐτῶνinἐνthemselvesἑαυτοῖςreceivingἀπολαμβάνοντες.

28AndΚαὶasκαθὼςnotοὐκthey did see fitἐδοκίμασαντὸνGodθεὸνto haveἔχεινin [their]ἐνknowledgeἐπιγνώσει,gave upπαρέδωκενthemαὐτοὺςὁGodθεὸςtoεἰςa depravedἀδόκιμονmindνοῦν,to doποιεῖνthingsτὰnotμὴbeing properκαθήκοντα,

29being filled withπεπληρωμένουςallπάσῃunrighteousnessἀδικίᾳwickednessπονηρίᾳcovetousnessπλεονεξίᾳmaliceκακίᾳ,fullμεστοὺςof envyφθόνουmurderφόνουstrifeἔριδοςdeceitδόλουmaliciousnessκακοηθείας,gossipsψιθυριστάς,

30slanderersκαταλάλους,hateful to Godθεοστυγεῖς,insolentὑβριστάς,arrogantὑπερηφάνους,boastfulἀλαζόνας,inventorsἐφευρετὰςof evil thingsκακῶν,to parentsγονεῦσινdisobedientἀπειθεῖς,

31foolishἀσυνέτους,untrustworthyἀσυνθέτους,heartlessἀστόργους,unmercifulἀνελεήμονας·

32whoοἵτινεςtheτὸrighteous decreeδικαίωματοῦof Godθεοῦhaving knownἐπιγνόντες,thatὅτιthoseοἱsuchτὰthingsτοιαῦταdoingπράσσοντεςworthyἄξιοιof deathθανάτουareεἰσίν,notοὐonlyμόνονthemαὐτὰare practicingποιοῦσινbutἀλλὰalsoκαὶare approving ofσυνευδοκοῦσινthoseτοῖςpracticing [them]πράσσουσιν.
