Matthew 23:34

34Because ofδιὰthisτοῦτοbeholdἰδοὺIἐγὼsendἀποστέλλωtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςprophetsπροφήταςandκαὶwise [men]σοφοὺςandκαὶscribesγραμματεῖς·Some ofἐξthemαὐτῶνyou will killἀποκτενεῖτεandκαὶwill crucifyσταυρώσετε,and [some]καὶofἐξthemαὐτῶνyou will flogμαστιγώσετεinἐνtheταῖςsynagoguesσυναγωγαῖςof youὑμῶνandκαὶwill persecuteδιώξετεfromἀπὸtownπόλεωςtoεἰςtownπόλιν·

Because of this, behold, I send to you⁺ prophets and wise [men] and scribes. Some of them you⁺ will kill and crucify, and some of them you⁺ will flog in your⁺ synagogues and will persecute from city to city,
