1InἘνthoseἐκείναιςταῖςdaysἡμέραιςagainπάλινgreatπολλοῦ[the] crowdὄχλουbeingὄντοςandκαὶnotμὴhavingἐχόντωνwhatτίthey might eatφάγωσιν,having called to [Him]προσκαλεσάμενοςtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςHe saysλέγειto themαὐτοῖς·

2I am moved with compassionΣπλαγχνίζομαιuponἐπὶtheτὸνcrowdὄχλονbecauseὅτιalreadyἤδηdaysἡμέραιthreeτρεῖςthey continueπροσμένουσίνwith Meμοιandκαὶnothingοὐκhaveἔχουσινthatτίthey might eatφάγωσιν·

3AndκαὶifἐὰνI shall send awayἀπολύσωthemαὐτοὺςhungryνήστειςtoεἰς[the] homesοἶκονof themαὐτῶν,they will faintἐκλυθήσονταιonἐνtheτῇwayὁδῷ·Forκαίsomeτινεςof themαὐτῶνfromἀπὸafarμακρόθενcomeἥκασιν.

4AndκαὶansweredἀπεκρίθησανHimαὐτῷtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶof HimαὐτοῦὅτιFrom whereΠόθενtheseτούτουςwill be ableδυνήσεταίanyoneτιςhereὧδεto satisfyχορτάσαιwith breadἄρτωνinἐπ’this desolate placeἐρημίας;

5AndκαὶHe was askingἠρώταthemαὐτούς·How manyΠόσουςhave youἔχετεloavesἄρτους;οἱAndδὲthey saidεἶπαν·SevenἙπτά.

6AndκαὶHe directsπαραγγέλλειtheτῷcrowdὄχλῳto reclineἀναπεσεῖνonἐπὶtheτῆςgroundγῆς·Andκαὶhaving takenλαβὼνtheτοὺςsevenἑπτὰloavesἄρτουςhaving given thanksεὐχαριστήσαςHe broke [them]ἔκλασενandκαὶkept giving [them]ἐδίδουtoτοῖςdisciplesμαθηταῖςof Himαὐτοῦthatἵναthey might set before [them]παρατιθῶσινAndκαὶthey set [it] beforeπαρέθηκανtheτῷcrowdὄχλῳ.

7Andκαὶthey hadεἶχονsmall fishἰχθύδιαa fewὀλίγα·Andκαὶhaving blessedεὐλογήσαςthemαὐτὰHe orderedεἶπενalsoκαὶtheseταῦταto be set before [them]παρατιθέναι.

8Andκαὶthey ateἔφαγονandκαὶwere satisfiedἐχορτάσθησαν,Andκαὶthey took upἦρανover and aboveπερισσεύματαof fragmentsκλασμάτωνsevenἑπτὰbasketsσπυρίδας.

9There wereἦσανnowδὲaboutὡςfour thousandτετρακισχίλιοι.AndκαὶHe sent awayἀπέλυσενthemαὐτούς.

10Andκαὶimmediatelyεὐθὺςhaving enteredἐμβὰςintoεἰςtheτὸboatπλοῖονwithμετὰtheτῶνdisciplesμαθητῶνof HimαὐτοῦHe cameἦλθενintoεἰςtheτὰdistrictμέρηof DalmanuthaΔαλμανουθά.

11AndΚαὶwent outἐξῆλθονtheοἱPhariseesΦαρισαῖοιandκαὶbeganἤρξαντοto dispute withσυζητεῖνHimαὐτῷ,seekingζητοῦντεςfromπαρ’Himαὐτοῦa signσημεῖονfromἀπὸτοῦheavenοὐρανοῦ,testingπειράζοντεςHimαὐτόν.

12Andκαὶhaving sighed deeplyἀναστενάξαςin theτῷspiritπνεύματιof HimαὐτοῦHe saysλέγει·WhyΤίtheἡgenerationγενεὰthisαὕτηseeksζητεῖa signσημεῖον;TrulyἀμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖν,ifεἰthere will be givenδοθήσεταιto theτῇgenerationγενεᾷthisταύτῃa signσημεῖον.

13Andκαὶhaving leftἀφεὶςthemαὐτοὺςagainπάλινhaving embarkedἐμβὰςHe went awayἀπῆλθενtoεἰςtheτὸother sideπέραν.

14AndΚαὶthey forgotἐπελάθοντοto takeλαβεῖνloavesἄρτους,andκαὶifεἰnotμὴoneἕναloafἄρτονnotοὐκthey hadεἶχονwithμεθ’themἑαυτῶνinἐνtheτῷboatπλοίῳ.

15AndκαὶHe was instructingδιεστέλλετοthemαὐτοῖςsayingλέγων·Watch outὉρᾶτε,take heedβλέπετεofἀπὸtheτῆςleavenζύμηςof theτῶνPhariseesΦαρισαίωνandκαὶof theτῆςleavenζύμηςof HerodἩρῴδου.

16Andκαὶthey were reasoningδιελογίζοντοwithπρὸςone anotherἀλλήλουςbecauseὅτιloavesἄρτουςnotοὐκthey haveἔχουσιν.

17Andκαὶhaving known [it]γνοὺςHe saysλέγειto themαὐτοῖς·WhyΤίreason youδιαλογίζεσθεbecauseὅτιloavesἄρτουςnotοὐκyou haveἔχετε;Not yetοὔπωdo you perceiveνοεῖτεnorοὐδὲunderstandσυνίετε;Hardenedπεπωρωμένηνdo you haveἔχετεtheτὴνheartκαρδίανof youὑμῶν;

18Eyesὀφθαλμοὺςhavingἔχοντεςnotοὐdo you seeβλέπετεAndκαὶearsὦταhavingἔχοντεςnotοὐκdo you hearἀκούετε;Andκαὶnotοὐdo you rememberμνημονεύετε

19WhenὅτεtheτοὺςfiveπέντεloavesἄρτουςI brokeἔκλασαforεἰςtheτοὺςfive thousandπεντακισχιλίους,how manyπόσουςhand-basketsκοφίνουςof fragmentsκλασμάτωνfullπλήρειςtook you upἤρατε;They sayλέγουσινto Himαὐτῷ·TwelveΔώδεκα.

20Whenὅτεalsoκαὶtheτοὺςsevenἑπτὰtoεἰςtheτοὺςfour thousandτετρακισχιλίους,of how manyπόσωνbasketsσπυρίδων[the] fillingsπληρώματαof fragmentsκλασμάτωνtook you upἤρατε;Andκαὶsaidλέγουσινto himαὐτῷ·SevenἙπτά.

21AndκαὶHe was sayingἔλεγενto themαὐτοῖς·Not yetΟὔπωdo you understandσυνίετε;

22AndΚαὶthey comeἔρχονταιtoεἰςBethsaidaΒηθσαϊδάν.Andκαὶthey bringφέρουσινto Himαὐτῷa blind [man]τυφλὸνandκαὶimploreπαρακαλοῦσινHimαὐτὸνthatἵναhimαὐτοῦHe might touchἅψηται.

23Andκαὶhaving taken hold ofἐπιλαβόμενοςtheτῆςhandχειρὸςof theτοῦblind [man]τυφλοῦHe led forthἐξήνεγκενhimαὐτὸνoutἔξωof theτῆςvillageκώμης,andκαὶhaving spitπτύσαςuponεἰςtheτὰeyesὄμματαof himαὐτοῦ,having laidἐπιθεὶςtheτὰςhandsχεῖραςupon himαὐτῷ,He was askingἐπηρώταhimαὐτόν·ifΕἴanythingτιyou seeβλέπεις;

24Andκαὶhaving looked upἀναβλέψαςhe was sayingἔλεγεν·I seeΒλέπωtheτοὺςmenἀνθρώπουςforὅτιasὡςtreesδένδραI see [them]ὁρῶwalkingπεριπατοῦντας.

25ThenεἶταagainπάλινHe laidἐπέθηκενtheτὰςhandsχεῖραςuponἐπὶtheτοὺςeyesὀφθαλμοὺςof himαὐτοῦ,andκαὶhe opened his eyesδιέβλεψενandκαὶhe was restoredἀπεκατέστηandκαὶhe began to seeἐνέβλεπενclearlyτηλαυγῶςeverythingἅπαντα.

26AndκαὶHe sentἀπέστειλενhimαὐτὸνtoεἰς[the] homeοἶκονof himαὐτοῦsayingλέγων·NotΜηδὲintoεἰςtheτὴνvillageκώμηνmay you enterεἰσέλθῃς.

27AndΚαὶwent forthἐξῆλθενὁJesusἸησοῦςandκαὶtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶof Himαὐτοῦintoεἰςtheτὰςvillagesκώμαςof CaesareaΚαισαρείαςτῆςPhilippiΦιλίππου·AndκαὶonἐνtheτῇwayὁδῷHe was questioningἐπηρώταtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςof Himαὐτοῦsayingλέγωνto themαὐτοῖς·WhomΤίναMeμεdo pronounceλέγουσινοἱmenἄνθρωποιto beεἶναι;

28οἱAndδὲthey answeredεἶπανHimαὐτῷsayingλέγοντεςὅτιJohnἸωάννηνtheτὸνBaptistβαπτιστήν,andκαὶothersἄλλοιElijahἨλίαν,othersἄλλοιnowδὲὅτιoneεἷςof theτῶνprophetsπροφητῶν.

29AndκαὶHeαὐτὸςwas questioningἐπηρώταthemαὐτούς·YouὙμεῖςhoweverδὲwhomτίναMeμεdo pronounceλέγετεto beεἶναι;AnsweringἀποκριθεὶςὁPeterΠέτροςsaysλέγειto Himαὐτῷ·YouΣὺareεἶtheὁChristχριστός.

30AndκαὶHe warnedἐπετίμησενthemαὐτοῖςthatἵναno oneμηδενὶthey should tellλέγωσινconcerningπερὶHimαὐτοῦ.

31AndΚαὶHe beganἤρξατοto teachδιδάσκεινthemαὐτοὺςthatὅτιit is necessary forδεῖtheτὸνSonυἱὸντοῦof Manἀνθρώπουmany thingsπολλὰto sufferπαθεῖνandκαὶto be rejectedἀποδοκιμασθῆναιbyὑπὸtheτῶνeldersπρεσβυτέρωνandκαὶtheτῶνchief priestsἀρχιερέωνandκαὶtheτῶνscribesγραμματέωνandκαὶto be killedἀποκτανθῆναιandκαὶafterμετὰthreeτρεῖςdaysἡμέραςto rise [again]ἀναστῆναι·

32AndκαὶopenlyπαρρησίᾳtheτὸνwordλόγονHe was speakingἐλάλει.Andκαὶhaving taken HimπροσλαβόμενοςὁPeterΠέτροςto himαὐτὸνhe beganἤρξατοto rebukeἐπιτιμᾶνHimαὐτῷ.

33ὁAndδὲhaving turnedἐπιστραφεὶςandκαὶhaving looked uponἰδὼνtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςof HimαὐτοῦHe rebukedἐπετίμησενPeterΠέτρῳandκαὶsaidλέγει·GetὝπαγεbehindὀπίσωMeμου,SatanΣατανᾶ,forὅτιnotοὐyou have in mindφρονεῖςtheτὰthingsτοῦof Godθεοῦbutἀλλὰtheτὰthingsτῶνof menἀνθρώπων.

34AndΚαὶhaving called to [Him]προσκαλεσάμενοςtheτὸνcrowdὄχλονwithσὺνtheτοῖςdisciplesμαθηταῖςof HimαὐτοῦHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·IfΕἴanyoneτιςdesiresθέλειafterὀπίσωMeμουto comeἐλθεῖν,let him denyἀπαρνησάσθωhimselfἑαυτὸνandκαὶlet him take upἀράτωtheτὸνcrossσταυρὸνof himαὐτοῦandκαὶlet him followἀκολουθείτωMeμοι.

35Whoeverὃςforγὰρifἐὰνmight desireθέλῃτὴνlifeψυχὴνhisαὐτοῦto saveσῶσαιwill loseἀπολέσειitαὐτήν·whoeverὃςnowδ’ἂνwill loseἀπολέσειtheτὴνlifeψυχὴνof himαὐτοῦon account ofἕνεκενMeἐμοῦandκαὶof theτοῦgospelεὐαγγελίουhe will saveσώσειitαὐτήν.

36Whatτίforγὰρdoes it profitὠφελεῖa manἄνθρωπονto gainκερδῆσαιtheτὸνworldκόσμονwholeὅλονandκαὶto loseζημιωθῆναιtheτὴνsoulψυχὴνof himαὐτοῦ;

37Whatτίforγὰρshall giveδοῖa manἄνθρωπος[as] an exchangeἀντάλλαγμαfor theτῆςsoulψυχῆςof himαὐτοῦ;

38Whoeverὃςforγὰρifἐὰνmay be ashamed ofἐπαισχυνθῇMeμεandκαὶτοὺςMyἐμοὺςwordsλόγουςinἐνtheτῇgenerationγενεᾷthisταύτῃτῇadulterousμοιχαλίδιandκαὶsinfulἁμαρτωλῷ,alsoκαὶtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουwill be ashamed ofἐπαισχυνθήσεταιhimαὐτὸνwhenὅτανHe shall comeἔλθῃinἐνtheτῇgloryδόξῃof theτοῦFatherπατρὸςof Himαὐτοῦwithμετὰtheτῶνangelsἀγγέλωντῶνholyἁγίων.
