Luke 22
1Was drawing nearἬγγιζενnowδὲtheἡFeastἑορτὴofτῶνUnleavened [Bread]ἀζύμωνἡcalledλεγομένηPassoverΠάσχα.
2Andκαὶwere seekingἐζήτουνtheοἱchief priestsἀρχιερεῖςandκαὶtheοἱscribesγραμματεῖςτὸhowπῶςthey might put to deathἀνέλωσινhimαὐτόν,they were afraidἐφοβοῦντοforγὰρof theτὸνpeopleλαόν.
3EnteredΕἰσῆλθενthenδὲSatanΣατανᾶςintoεἰςJudasἸούδανthe [one]τὸνbeing calledκαλούμενονIscariotἸσκαριώτην,beingὄνταofἐκtheτοῦnumberἀριθμοῦof theτῶνTwelveδώδεκα·
4Andκαὶhaving gone awayἀπελθὼνhe spoke withσυνελάλησενtheτοῖςchief priestsἀρχιερεῦσινandκαὶcaptainsστρατηγοῖςtheτὸhowπῶςto themαὐτοῖςhe might betrayπαραδῷHimαὐτόν.
5Andκαὶthey rejoicedἐχάρησανandκαὶagreedσυνέθεντοhimαὐτῷmoneyἀργύριονto giveδοῦναι.
6Andκαὶhe promisedἐξωμολόγησεν,andκαὶbegan seekingἐζήτειopportunityεὐκαιρίαντοῦto betrayπαραδοῦναιHimαὐτὸνapart fromἄτερ[a] crowdὄχλουto themαὐτοῖς.
7CameἮλθενthenδὲtheἡdayἡμέραofτῶνUnleavened [Bread]ἀζύμων,whichᾗit was necessary forἔδειto be sacrificedθύεσθαιtheτὸPassover lambπάσχα·
8AndκαὶHe sentἀπέστειλενPeterΠέτρονandκαὶJohnἸωάννηνhaving saidεἰπών·Having goneΠορευθέντεςprepareἑτοιμάσατεfor usἡμῖνtheτὸPassoverπάσχαthatἵναwe might eat [it]φάγωμεν.
9οἱAndδὲthey saidεἶπανto Himαὐτῷ·WhereΠοῦwill Youθέλειςwe should prepareἑτοιμάσωμεν;
10ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·BeholdἸδοὺhaving enteredεἰσελθόντωνof youὑμῶνintoεἰςtheτὴνcityπόλινwill meetσυναντήσειyouὑμῖνa manἄνθρωποςa pitcherκεράμιονof waterὕδατοςcarryingβαστάζων·followἀκολουθήσατεhimαὐτῷintoεἰςtheτὴνhouseοἰκίανintoεἰςwhichἣνhe entersεἰσπορεύεται.
11andκαὶyou shall sayἐρεῖτεto theτῷmasterοἰκοδεσπότῃof theτῆςhouseοἰκίας·SaysΛέγειto youσοιtheὁTeacherδιδάσκαλος·WhereΠοῦisἐστινtheτὸguest roomκατάλυμαwhereὅπουtheτὸPassoverπάσχαwithμετὰtheτῶνdisciplesμαθητῶνof MeμουI may eatφάγω;
12And heκἀκεῖνοςyouὑμῖνwill showδείξειan upper roomἀνάγαιονlargeμέγαfurnishedἐστρωμένον·thereἐκεῖprepareἑτοιμάσατε.
13Having goneἀπελθόντεςthenδὲthey found [it]εὗρονasκαθὼςHe had saidεἰρήκειto themαὐτοῖς,andκαὶthey preparedἡτοίμασανtheτὸPassoverπάσχα.
14AndΚαὶwhenὅτεwas comeἐγένετοtheἡhourὥρα,He reclinedἀνέπεσενandκαὶtheοἱapostlesἀπόστολοιwithσὺνHimαὐτῷ.
15AndκαὶHe saidεἶπενtoπρὸςthemαὐτούς·With desireἘπιθυμίᾳI have desiredἐπεθύμησαthisτοῦτοτὸPassoverπάσχαto eatφαγεῖνwithμεθ’youὑμῶνbeforeπρὸτοῦIμεsufferπαθεῖν·
16I sayλέγωforγὰρto youὑμῖνthatὅτιneverοὐnotμὴwill I eatφάγωthereofαὐτὸuntilἕωςwhenὅτουit is fulfilledπληρωθῇinἐνtheτῇkingdomβασιλείᾳτοῦof Godθεοῦ.
17Andκαὶhaving receivedδεξάμενος[the] cupποτήριονhaving given thanksεὐχαριστήσαςHe saidεἶπεν·TakeΛάβετεthisτοῦτοandκαὶdivide [it]διαμερίσατεamongεἰςyourselvesἑαυτούς·
18I sayλέγωforγὰρto youὑμῖν,noοὐnotμὴwill I drinkπίωfromἀπὸτοῦnowνῦνofἀπὸtheτοῦfruitγενήματοςof theτῆςvineἀμπέλουuntilἕωςthatοὗtheἡkingdomβασιλείατοῦof Godθεοῦshall comeἔλθῃ.
19Andκαὶhaving takenλαβὼν[the] breadἄρτονhaving given thanksεὐχαριστήσαςHe broke [it]ἔκλασενandκαὶgaveἔδωκενto themαὐτοῖςsayingλέγων·ThisΤοῦτόisἐστινtheτὸbodyσῶμάof Meμουwhichτὸforὑπὲρyouὑμῶνis givenδιδόμενον·thisτοῦτοdoποιεῖτεinεἰςtheτὴνof Meἐμὴνremembranceἀνάμνησιν.
20andκαὶtheτὸcupποτήριονlikewiseὡσαύτωςafterμετὰwhichτὸhaving suppedδειπνῆσαι,sayingλέγων·ThisΤοῦτοτὸcup [is]ποτήριονtheἡnewκαινὴcovenantδιαθήκηinἐνtheτῷbloodαἵματίof Meμου,whichτὸforὑπὲρyouὑμῶνis being poured outἐκχυννόμενον.
21Butπλὴνbeholdἰδοὺtheἡhandχεὶρof himτοῦbetrayingπαραδιδόντοςMeμε[is] withμετ’Meἐμοῦonἐπὶtheτῆςtableτραπέζης·
22ForὅτιtheὁSonυἱὸςindeedμὲνofτοῦmanἀνθρώπουaccording toκατὰthatτὸhaving been determinedὡρισμένονgoesπορεύεται,butπλὴνwoeοὐαὶto theτῷmanἀνθρώπῳthatἐκείνῳbyδι’whomοὗHe is betrayedπαραδίδοται.
23Andκαὶtheyαὐτοὶbeganἤρξαντοto questionσυζητεῖνamongπρὸςthemselvesἑαυτοὺςτὸwhoτίςthenἄραit might beεἴηofἐξthemαὐτῶνwhoὁthisτοῦτοis aboutμέλλωνto doπράσσειν.
24There wasἘγένετοthenδὲalsoκαὶa disputeφιλονεικίαamongἐνthemαὐτοῖς,τὸwhichτίςof themαὐτῶνis thoughtδοκεῖto beεἶναι[the] greatestμείζων.
25ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·TheΟἱkingsβασιλεῖςof theτῶνGentilesἐθνῶνrule overκυριεύουσινthemαὐτῶνandκαὶthoseοἱexercising authority overἐξουσιάζοντεςthemαὐτῶνbenefactorsεὐεργέταιare calledκαλοῦνται.
26Youὑμεῖςhoweverδὲnotοὐχthus [shall be]οὕτως,Insteadἀλλ’theὁgreatestμείζωνamongἐνyouὑμῖνlet him beγινέσθωasὡςtheὁyoungerνεώτερος,andκαὶthe [one]ὁleadingἡγούμενοςasὡςthe [one]ὁservingδιακονῶν·
27Whoτίςforγὰρ[is] greaterμείζων,the [one]ὁrecliningἀνακείμενοςorἢthe [one]ὁservingδιακονῶν;[Is] notοὐχὶthe [one]ὁrecliningἀνακείμενος;Iἐγὼhoweverδὲinἐν[the] midstμέσῳof youὑμῶνamεἰμιasὡςthe [One]ὁservingδιακονῶν.
28YouὙμεῖςnowδέareἐστεthoseοἱhaving remainedδιαμεμενηκότεςwithμετ’Meἐμοῦinἐνtheτοῖςtrialsπειρασμοῖςof Meμου·
29And Iκἀγὼappointδιατίθεμαιto youὑμῖν,asκαθὼςappointedδιέθετόto MeμοιtheὁFatherπατήρof Meμουa kingdomβασιλείαν,
30so thatἵναyou may eatἔσθητεandκαὶmay drinkπίνητεatἐπὶtheτῆςtableτραπέζηςof Meμουinἐνtheτῇkingdomβασιλείᾳof Meμου,andκαὶmay sitκαθήσεσθεonἐπὶthronesθρόνωνtheτὰςtwelveδώδεκαtribesφυλὰςjudgingκρίνοντεςofτοῦIsraelἸσραήλ.
31SimonΣίμωνSimonΣίμων,BeholdἰδοὺὁSatanΣατανᾶςdemanded to haveἐξῃτήσατοall of youὑμᾶςτοῦto siftσινιάσαιlikeὡςτὸνwheatσῖτον·
32Iἐγὼhoweverδὲbeggedἐδεήθηνforπερὶyouσοῦthatἵναnotμὴmay failἐκλίπῃtheἡfaithπίστιςof youσου·andκαὶyouσύwhenποτεyou have turned backἐπιστρέψαςstrengthenστήρισονtheτοὺςbrothersἀδελφούςof youσου.
33ὁAndδὲhe saidεἶπενto Himαὐτῷ·LordΚύριε,withμετὰYouσοῦreadyἕτοιμόςI amεἰμιbothκαὶtoεἰςprisonφυλακὴνandκαὶtoεἰςdeathθάνατονto goπορεύεσθαι.
34ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπεν·I tellΛέγωyouσοι,PeterΠέτρε,notοὐwill crowφωνήσειtodayσήμερον[the] roosterἀλέκτωρuntilἕωςthree timesτρίςMeμεyou will denyἀπαρνήσῃknowingεἰδέναι.
35AndΚαὶHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·WhenὍτεI sentἀπέστειλαyouὑμᾶςwithoutἄτερpurseβαλλαντίουandκαὶbagπήραςandκαὶsandalsὑποδημάτων,notμήanythingτινοςdid you lackὑστερήσατε;οἱAndδὲthey saidεἶπαν·NothingΟὐθενός.
36He saidεἶπενthenδὲto themαὐτοῖς·ButἈλλὰnowνῦνthe [one]ὁhavingἔχωνa purseβαλλάντιονlet him take [it]ἀράτω,likewiseὁμοίωςalsoκαὶa bagπήραν,andκαὶthe [one]ὁnotμὴhavingἔχωνlet him sellπωλησάτωtheτὸcloakἱμάτιονof himαὐτοῦandκαὶbuy [one]ἀγορασάτωa swordμάχαιραν.
37I sayλέγωforγὰρto youὑμῖνthatὅτιthisτοῦτοwhichτὸhas been writtenγεγραμμένονit behoovesδεῖto be accomplishedτελεσθῆναιinἐνMeἐμοί,τό·AndΚαὶwithμετὰthe lawlessἀνόμωνHe was reckonedἐλογίσθη·Andκαὶforγὰρthe thingsτὸconcerningπερὶMeἐμοῦan endτέλοςhaveἔχει.
38οἱAndδὲthey saidεἶπαν·LordΚύριε,beholdἰδοὺswordsμάχαιραιhere [are]ὧδεtwoδύο.ὁAndδὲHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·EnoughἹκανόνit isἐστιν.
39AndΚαὶhaving gone forthἐξελθὼνHe wentἐπορεύθηaccording toκατὰtheτὸcustomἔθοςtoεἰςtheτὸMountὌροςτῶνof OlivesἘλαιῶν·followedἠκολούθησανthenδὲHimαὐτῷalsoκαὶtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταί.
40Having comeγενόμενοςthenδὲtoἐπὶtheτοῦplaceτόπουHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·PrayΠροσεύχεσθεnotμὴto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςtemptationπειρασμόν.
41AndκαὶHeαὐτὸςwithdrewἀπεσπάσθηfromἀπ’themαὐτῶνaboutὡσεὶa stone’sλίθουthrowβολήν,andκαὶhaving fallen onθεὶςtheτὰkneesγόναταHe was prayingπροσηύχετο
42sayingλέγων·FatherΠάτερ,ifεἰYou are willingβούλειtake awayπαρένεγκεthisτοῦτοτὸcupποτήριονfromἀπ’Meἐμοῦ·Yetπλὴνnotμὴtheτὸwillθέλημάof Meμουbutἀλλὰτὸof Youσὸνbe doneγινέσθω.
43Appearedὤφθηthenδὲto Himαὐτῷan angelἄγγελοςfromἀπ’heavenοὐρανοῦstrengtheningἐνισχύωνHimαὐτόν.
44Andκαὶhaving beenγενόμενοςinἐνagonyἀγωνίᾳmore earnestlyἐκτενέστερονHe was prayingπροσηύχετο·Andκαὶbecameἐγένετοtheὁsweatἱδρὼςof Himαὐτοῦlikeὡσεὶgreat dropsθρόμβοιof bloodαἵματοςfalling downκαταβαίνοντεςuponἐπὶtheτὴνgroundγῆν.
45Andκαὶhaving risen upἀναστὰςfromἀπὸtheτῆςprayerπροσευχῆςhaving comeἐλθὼνtoπρὸςtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςHe foundεὗρενsleepingκοιμωμένουςthemαὐτοὺςfromἀπὸtheτῆςgriefλύπης,
46andκαὶHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·WhyΤίare you sleepingκαθεύδετε;Having risen upἀναστάντεςprayπροσεύχεσθε,thatἵναnotμὴyou might enterεἰσέλθητεintoεἰςtemptationπειρασμόν.
47While stillἜτιof Himαὐτοῦspeakingλαλοῦντοςbeholdἰδοὺa crowdὄχλος,andκαὶhe whoὁis calledλεγόμενοςJudasἸούδαςoneεἷςof theτῶνTwelveδώδεκαwas going beforeπροήρχετοthemαὐτούς,andκαὶhe drew nearἤγγισεντῷto JesusἸησοῦto kissφιλῆσαιHimαὐτόν.
48JesusἸησοῦςthenδὲsaidεἶπενto himαὐτῷ·JudasἸούδα,with a kissφιλήματιtheτὸνSonυἱὸντοῦof Manἀνθρώπουare you betrayingπαραδίδως;
49Having seenἰδόντεςthenδὲthoseοἱaroundπερὶHimαὐτὸνwhatτὸwould beἐσόμενονthey saidεἶπαν·LordΚύριε,ifεἰwill we strikeπατάξομενwith [the]ἐνswordμαχαίρῃ;
50Andκαὶstruckἐπάταξενoneεἷςa certainτιςofἐξthemαὐτῶνof theτοῦhigh priestἀρχιερέωςtheτὸνservantδοῦλονandκαὶcut offἀφεῖλενtheτὸearοὖςhisαὐτοῦτὸrightδεξιόν.
51AnsweringἀποκριθεὶςnowδὲὁJesusἸησοῦςsaidεἶπεν·Allow youἘᾶτεas far asἕωςthusτούτου·Andκαὶhaving touchedἁψάμενοςtheτοῦearὠτίουHe healedἰάσατοhimαὐτόν.
52SaidεἶπενthenδὲJesusἸησοῦςtoπρὸςthoseτοὺςhaving come outπαραγενομένουςagainstἐπ’Himαὐτὸνchief priestsἀρχιερεῖςandκαὶcaptainsστρατηγοὺςof theτοῦtempleἱεροῦandκαὶeldersπρεσβυτέρους·AsὩςagainstἐπὶa robberλῃστὴνhave you come outἐξήλθατεwithμετὰswordsμαχαιρῶνandκαὶclubsξύλων;
53Everyκαθ’dayἡμέρανbeingὄντοςof Meμουwithμεθ’youὑμῶνinἐνtheτῷtempleἱερῷnotοὐκdid you stretch outἐξετείνατεtheτὰςhandsχεῖραςagainstἐπ’Meἐμέ·butἀλλ’thisαὕτηisἐστὶνof youὑμῶνtheἡhourὥραandκαὶtheἡpowerἐξουσίαof theτοῦdarknessσκότους.
54Having seizedΣυλλαβόντεςthenδὲHimαὐτὸνthey led [Him] awayἤγαγονandκαὶled [Him]εἰσήγαγονintoεἰςtheτὴνhouseοἰκίανof theτοῦhigh priestἀρχιερέως·ὁAndδὲPeterΠέτροςwas followingἠκολούθειafar offμακρόθεν.
55They having kindledπεριαψάντωνthenδὲa fireπῦρinἐν[the] midstμέσῳof theτῆςcourtyardαὐλῆςandκαὶhaving sat down togetherσυγκαθισάντωνwas sittingἐκάθητοὁPeterΠέτροςamongμέσοςthemαὐτῶν.
56Having seenἰδοῦσαthenδὲhimαὐτὸνa servant girlπαιδίσκηcertainτιςsittingκαθήμενονbyπρὸςtheτὸlightφῶςandκαὶhaving looked intently onἀτενίσασαhimαὐτῷshe saidεἶπεν·AlsoΚαὶthis oneοὗτοςwithσὺνHimαὐτῷwasἦν·
57ὁButδὲhe denied [it]ἠρνήσατοsayingλέγων·NotΟὐκI do knowοἶδαHimαὐτόν,womanγύναι.
58Andκαὶafterμετὰa littleβραχὺanotherἕτεροςhaving seenἰδὼνhimαὐτὸνwas sayingἔφη·AlsoΚαὶyouσὺofἐξthemαὐτῶνareεἶ·ὁButδὲPeterΠέτροςwas sayingἔφη·ManἌνθρωπε,notοὐκI amεἰμί.
59Andκαὶhaving elapsedδιαστάσηςaboutὡσεὶhourὥραςoneμιᾶςotherἄλλοςa certainτιςstrongly affirmed [it]διϊσχυρίζετοsayingλέγων·OfἘπ’a truthἀληθείαςalsoκαὶthis oneοὗτοςwithμετ’Himαὐτοῦwasἦν,alsoκαὶforγὰρa GalileanΓαλιλαῖόςhe isἐστιν·
60SaidεἶπενhoweverδὲὁPeterΠέτρος·ManἌνθρωπε,notοὐκI knowοἶδαwhatὃyou sayλέγεις.Andκαὶimmediatelyπαραχρῆμαwhileἔτιhe was speakingλαλοῦντοςof himαὐτοῦcrowedἐφώνησενthe roosterἀλέκτωρ.
61Andκαὶhaving turnedστραφεὶςtheὁLordκύριοςlooked atἐνέβλεψεντῷPeterΠέτρῳ,andκαὶrememberedὑπεμνήσθηὁPeterΠέτροςtheτοῦwordλόγουof theτοῦLordκυρίουhowὡςHe had saidεἶπενto himαὐτῷὅτιBeforeΠρὶν[the] roosterἀλέκτοραcrowsφωνῆσαιtodayσήμερονyou will denyἀπαρνήσῃMeμεthree timesτρίς.
62Andκαὶhaving gone forthἐξελθὼνoutsideἔξωhe weptἔκλαυσενbitterlyπικρῶς.
63AndΚαὶtheοἱmenἄνδρεςwhoοἱare holdingσυνέχοντεςHimαὐτὸνbegan mockingἐνέπαιζονHimαὐτῷbeating [Him]δέροντες,
64Andκαὶhaving blindfoldedπερικαλύψαντεςHimαὐτὸνthey were questioning [Him]ἐπηρώτωνsayingλέγοντες·ProphesyΠροφήτευσον,whoτίςisἐστινthe [one]ὁhaving struckπαίσαςYouσε;
65Andκαὶother thingsἕτεραmanyπολλὰblasphemingβλασφημοῦντεςthey were sayingἔλεγονtoεἰςHimαὐτόν.
66AndΚαὶwhenὡςit becameἐγένετοdayἡμέρα,were gathered togetherσυνήχθηtheτὸelderhoodπρεσβυτέριονof theτοῦpeopleλαοῦ,chief priestsἀρχιερεῖςbothτεandκαὶscribesγραμματεῖς,andκαὶthey ledἀπήγαγονHimαὐτὸνintoεἰςtheτὸcouncilσυνέδριονof themαὐτῶν,
67sayingλέγοντες·IfΕἰYouσὺareεἶtheὁChristχριστός,tellεἰπὸνusἡμῖν.He saidεἶπενthenδὲto themαὐτοῖς·IfἘὰνyouὑμῖνI should tellεἴπωnoοὐnotμὴwould you believeπιστεύσητε·
68ifἐὰνthenδὲI should ask [you]ἐρωτήσω,noοὐnotμὴwould you answerἀποκριθῆτε.
69Fromἀπὸτοῦnow onνῦνalsoδὲwill beἔσταιtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουsittingκαθήμενοςatἐκ[the] right handδεξιῶνof theτῆςpowerδυνάμεωςτοῦof Godθεοῦ.
70They saidεἶπανthenδὲallπάντες·YouΣὺthenοὖνareεἶtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Godθεοῦ;ὁAndδὲtoπρὸςthemαὐτοὺςHe was sayingἔφη·YouὙμεῖςsayλέγετεthatὅτιIἐγώamεἰμι.
71οἱAndδὲthey saidεἶπαν·WhatΤίany moreἔτιhave weἔχομενof witnessμαρτυρίαςneedχρείαν;We ourselvesαὐτοὶforγὰρhave heard [it]ἠκούσαμενfromἀπὸtheτοῦmouthστόματοςof Himαὐτοῦ.
