2To TimothyΤιμοθέῳ[my] belovedἀγαπητῷchildτέκνῳ·Graceχάρις,mercyἔλεος,[and] peaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸGodθεοῦ[the] FatherπατρὸςandκαὶChristΧριστοῦJesusἸησοῦtheτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶν.
3ThankfulΧάρινI amἔχωτῷto Godθεῷ,whomᾧI serveλατρεύωfromἀπὸ[my] forefathersπρογόνωνwithἐνa pureκαθαρᾷconscienceσυνειδήσει,asὡςunceasinglyἀδιάλειπτονI haveἔχωtheτὴνofπερὶyouσοῦremembranceμνείανinἐνtheταῖςprayersδεήσεσίνof meμου,nightνυκτὸςandκαὶdayἡμέρας
4longingἐπιποθῶνyouσεto seeἰδεῖν,recallingμεμνημένοςyourσουτῶνtearsδακρύων,so thatἵναwith joyχαρᾶςI may be filledπληρωθῶ
5remembranceὑπόμνησινhaving takenλαβὼνof theτῆςwithinἐνyouσοὶsincereἀνυποκρίτουfaithπίστεως,whichἥτιςdweltἐνῴκησενfirstπρῶτονinἐνtheτῇgrandmotherμάμμῃof youσουLoisΛωΐδιandκαὶin theτῇmotherμητρίof youσουEuniceΕὐνίκῃ,I am persuadedπέπεισμαιnowδὲthatὅτιalsoκαὶ[it is] inἐνyouσοί.
6Forδι’thisἣνreasonαἰτίανI remindἀναμιμνῄσκωyouσεto kindle anewἀναζωπυρεῖνtheτὸgiftχάρισματοῦof Godθεοῦ,whichὅisἐστινinἐνyouσοὶbyδιὰtheτῆςlaying onἐπιθέσεωςof theτῶνhandsχειρῶνof meμου·
7Notοὐforγὰρhas givenἔδωκενusἡμῖνὁGodθεὸςa spiritπνεῦμαof cowardiceδειλίας,butἀλλὰof powerδυνάμεωςandκαὶof loveἀγάπηςandκαὶof self-controlσωφρονισμοῦ.
8NotΜὴthereforeοὖνyou should be ashamed ofἐπαισχυνθῇςtheτὸtestimonyμαρτύριονof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνnorμηδὲof meἐμὲtheτὸνprisonerδέσμιονof Himαὐτοῦ,butἀλλὰsuffer togetherσυγκακοπάθησονfor theτῷgospelεὐαγγελίῳaccording toκατὰ[the] powerδύναμινof Godθεοῦ,
9the [One]τοῦhaving savedσώσαντοςusἡμᾶςandκαὶhaving called [us]καλέσαντοςwith a callingκλήσειholyἁγίᾳ,notοὐaccording toκατὰtheτὰworksἔργαof usἡμῶνbutἀλλὰaccording toκατὰHis ownἰδίανpurposeπρόθεσινandκαὶgraceχάριν,τὴνhaving been givenδοθεῖσανusἡμῖνinἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦbeforeπρὸtimeχρόνωνeternalαἰωνίων,
10having been made manifestφανερωθεῖσανalsoδὲnowνῦνbyδιὰtheτῆςappearingἐπιφανείαςof theτοῦSaviorσωτῆροςof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,having abolishedκαταργήσαντοςindeedμὲντὸνdeathθάνατονhaving brought to lightφωτίσαντοςnowδὲlifeζωὴνandκαὶimmortalityἀφθαρσίανthroughδιὰtheτοῦgospelεὐαγγελίου,
11toεἰςwhichὃwas appointedἐτέθηνIἐγὼa heraldκῆρυξandκαὶan apostleἀπόστολοςandκαὶa teacherδιδάσκαλος.
12Forδι’thisἣνreasonαἰτίανalsoκαὶthese thingsταῦταI sufferπάσχω,Butἀλλ’notοὐκI am ashamedἐπαισχύνομαι,I knowοἶδαforγὰρwhomᾧI have believedπεπίστευκα,andκαὶI am persuadedπέπεισμαιthatὅτιableδυνατόςHe isἐστινtheτὴνdeposit entrustedπαραθήκηνof meμουto guardφυλάξαιforεἰςthatἐκείνηντὴνdayἡμέραν.
13[The] patternὑποτύπωσινretainἔχεof soundὑγιαινόντωνwordsλόγωνwhichὧνfromπαρ’meἐμοῦyou did hearἤκουσαςinἐν[the] faithπίστειandκαὶloveἀγάπῃthat [are]τῇinἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦ·
14Theτὴνgoodκαλὴνdeposit entrusted [to you]παραθήκηνkeepφύλαξονbyδιὰ[the] SpiritπνεύματοςHolyἁγίουthe [One]τοῦdwellingἐνοικοῦντοςinἐνusἡμῖν.
15You knowΟἶδαςthisτοῦτοthatὅτιturned away fromἀπεστράφησάνmeμεallπάντεςthoseοἱinἐντῇAsiaἈσίᾳ,among whomὧνareἐστινPhygelusΦύγελοςandκαὶHermogenesἙρμογένης.
16May grantδῴηmercyἔλεοςtheὁLordκύριοςto theτῷof OnesiphorusὈνησιφόρουhouseholdοἴκῳ,becauseὅτιoftenπολλάκιςmeμεhe refreshedἀνέψυξεν,andκαὶtheτὴνchainἅλυσίνof meμουnotοὐκhe was ashamed ofἐπαισχύνθη·
17Butἀλλὰhaving arrivedγενόμενοςinἐνRomeῬώμῃearnestlyσπουδαίωςhe sought outἐζήτησένmeμεandκαὶfound [me]εὗρεν—
18May grantδῴηunto himαὐτῷtheὁLordκύριοςto findεὑρεῖνmercyἔλεοςfromπαρὰ[the] Lordκυρίουinἐνthatἐκείνῃτῇdayἡμέρᾳ—Andκαὶhow muchὅσαinἐνEphesusἘφέσῳhe servedδιηκόνησεν,very wellβέλτιονyouσὺknowγινώσκεις.
