2 Corinthians 1
1PaulΠαῦλοςapostleἀπόστολοςof ChristΧριστοῦJesusἸησοῦbyδιὰ[the] willθελήματοςof GodθεοῦandκαὶTimothyΤιμόθεοςtheὁbrotherἀδελφὸςTo theτῇchurchἐκκλησίᾳτοῦof GodθεοῦτῇbeingοὔσῃinἐνCorinthΚορίνθῳ,withσὺνtheτοῖςsaintsἁγίοιςallπᾶσιντοῖςbeingοὖσινinἐνallὅλῃτῇAchaiaἈχαΐᾳ·
2Graceχάριςto youὑμῖνandκαὶpeaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸGodθεοῦ[the] Fatherπατρὸςof usἡμῶνandκαὶ[the] LordκυρίουJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ.
3Blessed [be]ΕὐλογητὸςtheὁGodθεὸςandκαὶFatherπατὴρof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,theὁFatherπατὴρτῶνof compassionsοἰκτιρμῶνandκαὶGodθεὸςof allπάσηςcomfortπαρακλήσεως,
4the [One]ὁcomfortingπαρακαλῶνusἡμᾶςinἐπὶallπάσῃtheτῇtribulationθλίψειof usἡμῶν,forεἰςτὸto be ableδύνασθαιusἡμᾶςto comfortπαρακαλεῖνthoseτοὺςinἐνeveryπάσῃtribulationθλίψειthroughδιὰtheτῆςcomfortπαρακλήσεωςwith whichἧςwe are comfortedπαρακαλούμεθαourselvesαὐτοὶbyὑπὸτοῦGodθεοῦ.
5becauseὅτιasκαθὼςaboundπερισσεύειtheτὰsufferingsπαθήματαof theτοῦChristΧριστοῦtowardεἰςusἡμᾶς,thus soοὕτωςthroughδιὰτοῦChristΧριστοῦaboundsπερισσεύειalsoκαὶtheἡcomfortπαράκλησιςof usἡμῶν.
6Ifεἴτεhoweverδὲwe are constrictedθλιβόμεθα,[it is] forὑπὲρτῆςyourὑμῶνcomfortπαρακλήσεωςandκαὶsalvationσωτηρίας·ifεἴτεwe are encouragedπαρακαλούμεθα,[it is] forὑπὲρτῆςyourὑμῶνcomfortπαρακλήσεωςτῆςoperatingἐνεργουμένηςinἐν[the] enduranceὑπομονῇof theτῶνsameαὐτῶνsufferingsπαθημάτωνthatὧνalsoκαὶweἡμεῖςsufferπάσχομεν,
7Andκαὶtheἡhopeἐλπὶςof usἡμῶν[is] steadfastβεβαίαforὑπὲρyouὑμῶν·knowingεἰδότεςthatὅτιasὡςpartnersκοινωνοίyou areἐστεof theτῶνsufferingsπαθημάτων,soοὕτωςalsoκαὶof theτῆςcomfortπαρακλήσεως.
8NotΟὐforγὰρdo we wantθέλομενyouὑμᾶςto be ignorantἀγνοεῖν,brothersἀδελφοί,as toὑπὲρtheτῆςafflictionθλίψεωςof usἡμῶντῆςhaving happenedγενομένηςinἐντῇAsiaἈσίᾳ,thatὅτιagainstκαθ’excessivelyὑπερβολὴνbeyond [our]ὑπὲρpowerδύναμινwe were weighedἐβαρήθημεν,so asὥστεto despairἐξαπορηθῆναιfor usἡμᾶςevenκαὶτοῦto liveζῆν·
9Butἀλλὰweαὐτοὶinἐνourselvesἑαυτοῖςtheτὸsentenceἀπόκριματοῦof deathθανάτουhadἐσχήκαμεν,in order thatἵναnotμὴtrustingπεποιθότεςwe should beὦμενinἐφ’ourselvesἑαυτοῖςbutἀλλ’inἐπὶτῷGodθεῷthe [One]τῷraisingἐγείροντιtheτοὺςdeadνεκρούς·
10whoὃςfromἐκsuch a greatτηλικούτουa deathθανάτουhas deliveredἐρρύσατοusἡμᾶςandκαὶwill deliver [us]ῥύσεται,inεἰςwhomὃνwe have hopeἠλπίκαμενthatὅτιalsoκαὶstillἔτιHe will deliver [us]ῥύσεται,
11joining togetherσυνυπουργούντωνalsoκαὶof youὑμῶνforὑπὲρusἡμῶνbyτῇsupplicationδεήσει,so thatἵναbyἐκmanyπολλῶνpersonsπροσώπωνfor theτὸtowardεἰςusἡμᾶςgrace bestowedχάρισμαthroughδιὰmanyπολλῶνthanks may be givenεὐχαριστηθῇforὑπὲρusἡμῶν.
12ἩForγὰρthe boastingκαύχησιςof usἡμῶνthisαὕτηisἐστίν,theτὸtestimonyμαρτύριονof theτῆςconscienceσυνειδήσεωςof usἡμῶν,thatὅτιinἐν[the] holinessἁγιότητιandκαὶsincerityεἰλικρινείᾳτοῦof Godθεοῦ,notοὐκinἐνwisdomσοφίᾳfleshlyσαρκικῇbutἀλλ’inἐν[the] graceχάριτιof Godθεοῦ,we have conducted ourselvesἀνεστράφημενinἐνtheτῷworldκόσμῳ,more abundantlyπερισσοτέρωςnowδὲtowardπρὸςyouὑμᾶς·
13Noοὐforγὰρother thingsἄλλαwe writeγράφομενto youὑμῖνotherἀλλ’thanἢwhatἃyou readἀναγινώσκετεorἢevenκαὶunderstandἐπιγινώσκετε,I hopeἐλπίζωnowδὲthatὅτιto [the]ἕωςendτέλουςyou will understandἐπιγνώσεσθε,
14asκαθὼςalsoκαὶyou have understoodἐπέγνωτεusἡμᾶςinἀπὸpartμέρους,so thatὅτιboastingκαύχημαof youὑμῶνwe areἐσμενeven asκαθάπερalsoκαὶyou [are]ὑμεῖςoursἡμῶνinἐνtheτῇdayἡμέρᾳof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦ.
15AndΚαὶwith thisταύτῃτῇconfidenceπεποιθήσειI was planningἐβουλόμηνpreviouslyπρότερονtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςto comeἐλθεῖν,so thatἵναa secondδευτέρανblessing of graceχάρινyou might haveσχῆτε,
16andκαὶthroughδι’youὑμῶνto pass throughδιελθεῖνintoεἰςMacedoniaΜακεδονίαν,andκαὶagainπάλινfromἀπὸMacedoniaΜακεδονίαςto comeἐλθεῖνtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςandκαὶbyὑφ’youὑμῶνto be set forwardπροπεμφθῆναιtoεἰςτὴνJudeaἸουδαίαν.
17Thusτοῦτοthereforeοὖνpurposingβουλόμενοςnotμήτιthenἄρατῇlightnessἐλαφρίᾳdid I useἐχρησάμην;OrἢwhatἃI purposeβουλεύομαιaccording toκατὰfleshσάρκαdo I purposeβουλεύομαι,so thatἵναthere should beᾖwithπαρ’meἐμοὶτὸYesΝαὶyesναὶandκαὶτὸNoΟὒnoοὔ;
18FaithfulπιστὸςhoweverδὲὁGod [is]θεὸςthatὅτιtheὁwordλόγοςof usἡμῶνὁtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςnotοὐκwasἔστινYesΝαὶandκαὶNoΟὔ.
19Theὁτοῦof GodθεοῦforγὰρSonυἱὸςJesusἸησοῦςChristΧριστὸςthe [One]ὁamongἐνyouὑμῖνbyδι’usἡμῶνhaving been proclaimedκηρυχθείς,byδι’meἐμοῦandκαὶSilvanusΣιλουανοῦandκαὶTimothyΤιμοθέου,notοὐκwasἐγένετοYesΝαὶandκαὶNoΟὒ,butἀλλὰYesΝαὶinἐνHimαὐτῷit has always beenγέγονεν·
20As many asὅσαιforγὰρpromisesἐπαγγελίαιof God [there are]θεοῦ,inἐνHimαὐτῷ[is] theτὸYesΝαί·Thereforeδιὸalsoκαὶinδι’HimαὐτοῦtheτὸAmenἈμὴντῷto Godθεῷ[is] forπρὸςgloryδόξανbyδι’usἡμῶν.
21The [One]ὁnowδὲestablishingβεβαιῶνusἡμᾶςwithσὺνyouὑμῖνuntoεἰςChristΧριστὸνandκαὶhaving anointedχρίσαςusἡμᾶς[is] Godθεός,
22the [One]ὁalsoκαὶhaving sealedσφραγισάμενοςusἡμᾶςandκαὶhaving givenδοὺςtheτὸνpledgeἀρραβῶναof theτοῦSpiritπνεύματοςinἐνtheταῖςheartsκαρδίαιςof usἡμῶν.
23IἘγὼhoweverδὲas witnessμάρτυρατὸνGodθεὸνcallἐπικαλοῦμαιuponἐπὶτὴνmyἐμὴνsoulψυχήν,thatὅτιsparingφειδόμενοςyouὑμῶνnot yetοὐκέτιhave I comeἦλθονtoεἰςCorinthΚόρινθον.
24Notοὐχthatὅτιwe lord it overκυριεύομενyourὑμῶντῆςfaithπίστεως,butἀλλὰfellow workersσυνεργοίareἐσμενof theτῆςjoyχαρᾶςwith youὑμῶν,in theτῇforγὰρfaithπίστειyou stand firmἑστήκατε.
