Philippians 2
1If [there is]ΕἴanyτιςthereforeοὖνencouragementπαράκλησιςinἐνChristΧριστῷ,ifεἴanyτιcomfortπαραμύθιονof loveἀγάπης,ifεἴanyτιςfellowshipκοινωνίαof [the] Spiritπνεύματος,ifεἴanyτιςaffectionsσπλάγχναandκαὶcompassionsοἰκτιρμοί,
2fulfillπληρώσατέmyμουτὴνjoyχαρὰνso thatἵναtheτὸsameαὐτὸyou may be mindedφρονῆτε,theτὴνsameαὐτὴνloveἀγάπηνhavingἔχοντες,united in soulσύμψυχοι,theτὸsame thingἓνmindingφρονοῦντες,
3nothingμηδὲνaccording toκατ’self-interestἐριθείανorμηδὲaccording toκατὰvain conceitκενοδοξίαν,butἀλλὰτῇin humilityταπεινοφροσύνῃone anotherἀλλήλουςbe esteemingἡγούμενοιsurpassingὑπερέχονταςthemselvesἑαυτῶν,
4notμὴthe thingsτὰof themselvesἑαυτῶνeachἕκαστοιconsideringσκοποῦντες,butἀλλὰalsoκαὶthe thingsτὰof othersἑτέρωνeachἕκαστοι.
5Thisτοῦτοlet mind beφρονεῖτεinἐνyouὑμῖνwhichὃalsoκαὶinἐνChristΧριστῷJesus [was]Ἰησοῦ,
6Whoὃςinἐν[the] formμορφῇof Godθεοῦexistingὑπάρχωνnotοὐχsomething to be graspedἁρπαγμὸνconsideredἡγήσατοτὸto beεἶναιequalἴσαwith Godθεῷ,
7butἀλλὰHimselfἑαυτὸνemptiedἐκένωσεν[the] formμορφὴνof a servantδούλουhaving takenλαβών,inἐν[the] likenessὁμοιώματιof menἀνθρώπωνhaving been madeγενόμενος·Andκαὶin appearanceσχήματιhaving been foundεὑρεθεὶςasὡςa manἄνθρωπος
8He humbledἐταπείνωσενHimselfἑαυτὸνhaving becomeγενόμενοςobedientὑπήκοοςuntoμέχριdeathθανάτου,[the] deathθανάτουevenδὲof [the] crossσταυροῦ·
9ThereforeδιὸalsoκαὶὁGodθεὸςHimαὐτὸνhighly exaltedὑπερύψωσεν,andκαὶgrantedἐχαρίσατοto Himαὐτῷtheτὸnameὄνοματὸaboveὑπὲρeveryπᾶνnameὄνομα,
10thatἵναatἐνtheτῷnameὀνόματιof JesusἸησοῦeveryπᾶνkneeγόνυshould bowκάμψῃin the heavensἐπουρανίωνandκαὶon earthἐπιγείωνandκαὶunder the earthκαταχθονίων,
11andκαὶeveryπᾶσαtongueγλῶσσαshould confessἐξομολογήσηταιthatὅτι[is] LordκύριοςJesusἸησοῦςChristΧριστὸςtoεἰς[the] gloryδόξανof Godθεοῦ[the] Fatherπατρός.
12ThereforeὭστε,belovedἀγαπητοίof meμου,just asκαθὼςalwaysπάντοτεyou have obeyedὑπηκούσατε,notμὴasὡςinἐνtheτῇpresenceπαρουσίᾳof meμουonlyμόνονbutἀλλὰnowνῦνmuchπολλῷmoreμᾶλλονinἐνtheτῇabsenceἀπουσίᾳof meμου,withμετὰfearφόβουandκαὶtremblingτρόμουτὴνyour ownἑαυτῶνsalvationσωτηρίανwork outκατεργάζεσθε,
13Godθεὸςforγάρisἐστινthe [One]ὁworkingἐνεργῶνinἐνyouὑμῖνbothκαὶτὸto willθέλεινandκαὶτὸto workἐνεργεῖνaccording toὑπὲρ[His]τῆςgood pleasureεὐδοκίας.
14All thingsΠάνταdoποιεῖτεwithoutχωρὶςmurmuringsγογγυσμῶνandκαὶdisputingsδιαλογισμῶν,
15so thatἵναyou may beγένησθεblamelessἄμεμπτοιandκαὶinnocentἀκέραιοι,childrenτέκναof Godθεοῦunblemishedἄμωμαin [the] midstμέσονof a generationγενεᾶςcrookedσκολιᾶςandκαὶpervertedδιεστραμμένης,amongἐνwhomοἷςyou shineφαίνεσθεasὡςlightsφωστῆρεςinἐν[the] worldκόσμῳ
16[the] wordλόγονof lifeζωῆςholding forthἐπέχοντες,untoεἰςa boastκαύχημαto meἐμοὶinεἰς[the] dayἡμέρανof ChristΧριστοῦ,thatὅτιnotοὐκinεἰςvainκενὸνI did runἔδραμονnorοὐδὲinεἰςvainκενὸνtoilἐκοπίασα.
17ButἀλλὰifεἰevenκαὶI am being poured out as a drink offeringσπένδομαιonἐπὶtheτῇsacrificeθυσίᾳandκαὶserviceλειτουργίᾳof theτῆςfaithπίστεωςof youὑμῶν,I am gladχαίρωandκαὶrejoice withσυγχαίρωallπᾶσινyouὑμῖν·
18τὸAndδὲlikewiseαὐτὸalsoκαὶyouὑμεῖςbe gladχαίρετεandκαὶrejoice withσυγχαίρετέmeμοι.
19I hopeἘλπίζωhoweverδὲinἐν[the] LordκυρίῳJesusἸησοῦTimothyΤιμόθεονsoonταχέωςto sendπέμψαιto youὑμῖν,thatἵναI alsoκἀγὼmay be encouragedεὐψυχῶhaving knownγνοὺςthe thingsτὰconcerningπερὶyouὑμῶν.
20No oneοὐδέναforγὰρI haveἔχωlike-mindedἰσόψυχονwhoὅστιςgenuinelyγνησίωςthe thingsτὰrelative toπερὶyouὑμῶνwill care forμεριμνήσει,
21Thoseοἱallπάντεςforγὰρthe thingsτὰof themselvesἑαυτῶνare seekingζητοῦσιν,notοὐthe thingsτὰJesusἸησοῦof ChristΧριστοῦ.
22τὴνButδὲthe proven worthδοκιμὴνof himαὐτοῦyou knowγινώσκετε,thatὅτιasὡςa father [with]πατρὶa childτέκνονwithσὺνmeἐμοὶhe has servedἐδούλευσενinεἰςtheτὸgospelεὐαγγέλιον.
23HimτοῦτονindeedμὲνthereforeοὖνI hopeἐλπίζωto sendπέμψαιwhenὡςἂνI shall have seenἀφίδωthe thingsτὰconcerningπερὶmeἐμὲimmediatelyἐξαυτῆς·
24I am persuadedπέποιθαnowδὲinἐν[the] LordκυρίῳthatὅτιalsoκαὶI myselfαὐτὸςsoonταχέωςI will comeἐλεύσομαι.
25NecessaryἈναγκαῖονnowδὲI esteemed [it]ἡγησάμηνEpaphroditusἘπαφρόδιτονtheτὸνbrotherἀδελφὸνandκαὶfellow workerσυνεργὸνandκαὶfellow soldierσυστρατιώτηνof meμου,of youὑμῶνnowδὲmessengerἀπόστολονandκαὶminsterλειτουργὸνof theτῆςneedχρείαςof meμου,to sendπέμψαιtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶς,
26sinceἐπειδὴlonging afterἐπιποθῶνhe wasἦνallπάνταςyouὑμᾶς,andκαὶbeing deeply distressedἀδημονῶνbecauseδιότιyou heardἠκούσατεthatὅτιhe was illἠσθένησεν.
27Andκαὶindeedγὰρhe was sickἠσθένησενnearlyπαραπλήσιονunto deathθανάτῳ·butἀλλὰὁGodθεὸςhad mercy onἠλέησενhimαὐτόν,notοὐκon himαὐτὸνnowδὲaloneμόνονbutἀλλὰalsoκαὶon meἐμέ,thatἵναnotμὴsorrowλύπηνuponἐπὶsorrowλύπηνI should haveσχῶ.
28All the more speedilyσπουδαιοτέρωςthereforeοὖνI have sentἔπεμψαhimαὐτὸνthatἵναhaving seenἰδόντεςhimαὐτὸνagainπάλινyou may rejoiceχαρῆτεand Iκἀγὼless anxiousἀλυπότεροςmight beὦ.
29Receiveπροσδέχεσθεthereforeοὖνhimαὐτὸνinἐν[the] Lordκυρίῳwithμετὰallπάσηςjoyχαρᾶς,andκαὶτοὺςsuchτοιούτουςin honorἐντίμουςholdἔχετε,
30becauseὅτιfor the sake ofδιὰtheτὸworkἔργονof ChristΧριστοῦuntoμέχριdeathθανάτουhe came nearἤγγισεν,having disregardedπαραβολευσάμενος[his]τῇlifeψυχῇso thatἵναhe might fill upἀναπληρώσῃtheτὸof youὑμῶνdeficitὑστέρημαofτῆςtowardπρόςmeμεserviceλειτουργίας.
