Mark 4:17

17andκαὶnotοὐκthey haveἔχουσινrootῥίζανinἐνthemselvesἑαυτοῖςbutἀλλὰtemporaryπρόσκαιροίareεἰσιν,thenεἶταhaving arisenγενομένηςtribulationθλίψεωςorἢpersecutionδιωγμοῦon account ofδιὰtheτὸνwordλόγονimmediatelyεὐθὺςthey fall awayσκανδαλίζονται.

And they have no root in themselves, but are temporary. Then, [on] tribulation or persecution having come because of the word, immediately they are caused to stumble.
