1ὉThereforeοὖνJesusἸησοῦςbeforeπρὸsixἓξdaysἡμερῶνtheτοῦPassoverπάσχαcameἦλθενtoεἰςBethanyΒηθανίαν,whereὅπουwasἦνLazarusΛάζαρος,whomὃνhad raisedἤγειρενout fromἐκ[the] deadνεκρῶνJesusἸησοῦς.
2They madeἐποίησανthereforeοὖνHimαὐτῷa supperδεῖπνονthereἐκεῖ,andκαὶἡMarthaΜάρθαwas servingδιηκόνει,ὁandδὲLazarusΛάζαροςoneεἷςwasἦνofἐκthoseτῶνrecliningἀνακειμένωνwithσὺνHimαὐτῷ·
3ἡThereforeοὖνMaryΜαριὰμhaving takenλαβοῦσαa litraλίτρανof fragrant oilμύρουof nardνάρδουpureπιστικῆςof great priceπολυτίμουanointedἤλειψενtheτοὺςfeetπόδαςτοῦof JesusἸησοῦandκαὶwipedἐξέμαξενwith theταῖςhairθριξὶνof herαὐτῆςtheτοὺςfeetπόδαςof Himαὐτοῦ·theἡnowδὲhouseοἰκίαwas filledἐπληρώθηwithἐκtheτῆςfragranceὀσμῆςof theτοῦoilμύρου.
4SaysλέγειhoweverδὲJudasἸούδαςὁIscariotἸσκαριώτηςoneεἷςtheτῶνdisciplesμαθητῶνof Himαὐτοῦ,ὁbeing aboutμέλλωνHimαὐτὸνto betrayπαραδιδόναι·
5Because ofΔιὰwhyτίthisτοῦτοτὸfragrant oilμύρονnotοὐκwas soldἐπράθηfor three hundredτριακοσίωνdenariiδηναρίωνandκαὶgivenἐδόθηto [the] poorπτωχοῖς;
6He saidεἶπενhoweverδὲthisτοῦτοnotοὐχbecauseὅτιforπερὶtheτῶνpoorπτωχῶνhe was caringἔμελενto himαὐτῷ,butἀλλ’becauseὅτιa thiefκλέπτηςhe wasἦνandκαὶtheτὸmoney bagγλωσσόκομονhavingἔχωνthatτὰbeing put into [it]βαλλόμεναhe used to pilferἐβάσταζεν.
7SaidεἶπενthereforeοὖνὁJesusἸησοῦς·Leave aloneἌφεςherαὐτήν,so thatἵναforεἰςtheτὴνdayἡμέρανof theτοῦburialἐνταφιασμοῦof Meμουshe may keepτηρήσῃitαὐτό·
8theτοὺςpoorπτωχοὺςforγὰρalwaysπάντοτεyou haveἔχετεwithμεθ’youἑαυτῶν,Meἐμὲhoweverδὲnotοὐalwaysπάντοτεyou haveἔχετε.
9KnewἜγνωthereforeοὖνa crowdὄχλοςgreatπολὺςofἐκtheτῶνJewsἸουδαίωνthatὅτιthereἐκεῖHe isἐστιν,andκαὶthey cameἦλθονnotοὐbecause ofδιὰτὸνJesusἸησοῦνonlyμόνον,butἀλλ’thatἵναalsoκαὶτὸνLazarusΛάζαρονthey might seeἴδωσινwhomὃνHe had raisedἤγειρενout fromἐκ[the] deadνεκρῶν.
10Took counselἐβουλεύσαντοhoweverδὲtheοἱchief priestsἀρχιερεῖςthatἵναalsoκαὶτὸνLazarusΛάζαρονthey might killἀποκτείνωσιν,
11becauseὅτιmanyπολλοὶon account ofδι’himαὐτὸνwere going awayὑπῆγονof theτῶνJewsἸουδαίωνandκαὶwere believingἐπίστευονinεἰςτὸνJesusἸησοῦν.
12On theΤῇnext dayἐπαύριονtheὁcrowdὄχλοςgreatπολὺςὁhaving comeἐλθὼνtoεἰςtheτὴνfeastἑορτήν,having heardἀκούσαντεςthatὅτιis comingἔρχεταιὁJesusἸησοῦςintoεἰςJerusalemἹεροσόλυμα,
13tookἔλαβονtheτὰbranchesβαΐαof theτῶνpalm treesφοινίκωνandκαὶwent outἐξῆλθονtoεἰςmeetὑπάντησινHimαὐτῷ,andκαὶwere shoutingἐκραύγαζον·HosannaὩσαννά,Blessed isεὐλογημένοςthe [One]ὁcomingἐρχόμενοςinἐν[the] nameὀνόματιof [the] Lordκυρίου,AndκαὶtheὁKingβασιλεὺςτοῦof IsraelἸσραήλ.
14Having foundεὑρὼνthenδὲὁJesusἸησοῦςa young donkeyὀνάριονHe satἐκάθισενuponἐπ’itαὐτό,asκαθώςit isἐστινwrittenγεγραμμένον·
15NotΜὴfearφοβοῦ,daughterθυγάτηρof ZionΣιών·BeholdἰδοὺtheὁKingβασιλεύςof youσουcomesἔρχεται,sittingκαθήμενοςonἐπὶa coltπῶλονof a donkeyὄνου.
16These thingsταῦταnotοὐκknewἔγνωσανof Himαὐτοῦtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶfrom theτὸfirstπρῶτον,butἀλλ’whenὅτεwas glorifiedἐδοξάσθηJesusἸησοῦςthenτότεthey rememberedἐμνήσθησανthatὅτιthese thingsταῦταwereἦνofἐπ’Himαὐτῷwrittenγεγραμμέναandκαὶthese thingsταῦταthey had doneἐποίησανto Himαὐτῷ.
17Continued to bear witnessἐμαρτύρειthereforeοὖνtheὁcrowdὄχλοςὁbeingὢνwithμετ’HimαὐτοῦwhenὅτετὸνLazarusΛάζαρονHe calledἐφώνησενout ofἐκtheτοῦtombμνημείουandκαὶraisedἤγειρενhimαὐτὸνout fromἐκ[the] deadνεκρῶν.
18On account ofδιὰthisτοῦτοalsoκαὶmetὑπήντησενHimαὐτῷtheὁcrowdὄχλοςbecauseὅτιthey heardἤκουσανthisτοῦτοof Hisαὐτὸνhaving doneπεποιηκέναιtheτὸsignσημεῖον.
19οἱThereforeοὖνthe PhariseesΦαρισαῖοιsaidεἶπανamongπρὸςthemselvesἑαυτούς·You seeΘεωρεῖτεthatὅτιnotοὐκyou gainὠφελεῖτεnothingοὐδέν·BeholdἴδεtheὁworldκόσμοςafterὀπίσωHimαὐτοῦhas goneἀπῆλθεν.
20There wereἮσανnowδὲGreeksἝλληνέςcertainτινεςamongἐκthoseτῶνcoming upἀναβαινόντωνthatἵναthey might worshipπροσκυνήσωσινatἐνtheτῇfeastἑορτῇ·
21theseοὗτοιthereforeοὖνcameπροσῆλθονto PhilipΦιλίππῳwho wasτῷfromἀπὸBethsaidaΒηθσαϊδὰτῆςof GalileeΓαλιλαίας,andκαὶthey were askingἠρώτωνhimαὐτὸνsayingλέγοντες·SirΚύριε,we desireθέλομεντὸνJesusἸησοῦνto seeἰδεῖν.
22ComesἔρχεταιὁPhilipΦίλιπποςandκαὶtellsλέγειτῷAndrewἈνδρέᾳ·comeἔρχεταιAndrewἈνδρέαςandκαὶPhilipΦίλιπποςandκαὶtellλέγουσιντῷJesusἸησοῦ.
23ὁAndδὲJesusἸησοῦςansweredἀποκρίνεταιthemαὐτοῖςsayingλέγων·Has comeἘλήλυθενtheἡhourὥραthatἵναshould be glorifiedδοξασθῇtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου.
24TrulyἀμὴνtrulyἀμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖν,ifἐὰνnotμὴtheὁgrainκόκκοςτοῦof wheatσίτουhaving fallenπεσὼνintoεἰςtheτὴνgroundγῆνshould dieἀποθάνῃ,itαὐτὸςaloneμόνοςabidesμένει·ifἐὰνhoweverδὲit should dieἀποθάνῃ,muchπολὺνfruitκαρπὸνit bearsφέρει.
25The [one]ὁlovingφιλῶνtheτὴνlifeψυχὴνof himαὐτοῦlosesἀπολλύειitαὐτήν,andκαὶthe [one]ὁhatingμισῶνtheτὴνlifeψυχὴνof himαὐτοῦinἐνtheτῷworldκόσμῳthisτούτῳtoεἰςlifeζωὴνeternalαἰώνιονwill keepφυλάξειitαὐτήν.
26IfἐὰνMeἐμοίanyoneτιςservesδιακονῇMeἐμοὶlet him followἀκολουθείτω,andκαὶwhereὅπουamεἰμὶIἐγὼthereἐκεῖalsoκαὶtheὁservantδιάκονοςὁof Meἐμὸςwill beἔσται·IfἐάνanyoneτιςMeἐμοὶservesδιακονῇwill honorτιμήσειhimαὐτὸνtheὁFatherπατήρ.
27NowΝῦνtheἡsoulψυχήof Meμουhas been troubledτετάρακται,andκαὶwhatτίshall I sayεἴπω;Fatherπάτερ,saveσῶσόνMeμεfromἐκtheτῆςhourὥραςthisταύτης.Butἀλλὰon account ofδιὰthisτοῦτοI cameἦλθονtoεἰςtheτὴνhourὥρανthisταύτην.
28Fatherπάτερ,glorifyδόξασόνof Youσουtheτὸnameὄνομα.Cameἦλθενthereforeοὖνa voiceφωνὴfromἐκτοῦheavenοὐρανοῦ·BothΚαὶI have glorified [it]ἐδόξασαandκαὶagainπάλινI will glorify [it]δοξάσω.
29ὁThereforeοὖνthe crowdὄχλοςὁhaving stoodἑστὼςandκαὶhaving heardἀκούσαςwas sayingἔλεγενThunderβροντὴνthere has beenγεγονέναι·Othersἄλλοιwere sayingἔλεγον·An angelἌγγελοςto Himαὐτῷhas spokenλελάληκεν.
30AnsweredἀπεκρίθηJesusἸησοῦςandκαὶsaidεἶπεν·NotΟὐbecause ofδι’Meἐμὲtheἡvoiceφωνὴthisαὕτηhas comeγέγονενbutἀλλὰbecause ofδι’youὑμᾶς.
31Nowνῦν[the] judgmentκρίσιςisἐστὶνtheτοῦworldκόσμουof thisτούτου,nowνῦνtheὁprinceἄρχωνof theτοῦworldκόσμουthisτούτουwill be castἐκβληθήσεταιoutἔξω·
32And IκἀγὼifἐὰνI am lifted upὑψωθῶfromἐκtheτῆςearthγῆς,allπάνταςwill drawἑλκύσωtoπρὸςMyselfἐμαυτόν.
33ThisτοῦτοnowδὲHe was sayingἔλεγενsignifyingσημαίνωνby whatποίῳdeathθανάτῳHe was aboutἤμελλενto dieἀποθνῄσκειν.
34AnsweredἀπεκρίθηthenοὖνHimαὐτῷtheὁcrowdὄχλος·WeἩμεῖςhave heardἠκούσαμενfromἐκtheτοῦlawνόμουthatὅτιtheὁChristχριστὸςabidesμένειtoεἰςtheτὸνageαἰῶνα,andκαὶhowπῶςsayλέγειςyouσὺthatὅτιit behoovesδεῖto be lifted upὑψωθῆναιtheτὸνSonυἱὸντοῦof Manἀνθρώπου;WhoτίςisἐστινthisοὗτοςὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου;
35Saidεἶπενthereforeοὖνto themαὐτοῖςὁJesusἸησοῦς·YetἜτιa littleμικρὸνwhileχρόνονtheτὸlightφῶςwithἐνyouὑμῖνisἐστιν.Walkπεριπατεῖτεwhileὡςtheτὸlightφῶςyou haveἔχετε,so thatἵναnotμὴdarknessσκοτίαyouὑμᾶςmight overtakeκαταλάβῃ,Andκαὶthe [one]ὁwalkingπεριπατῶνinἐνtheτῇdarknessσκοτίᾳnotοὐκknowsοἶδενwhereποῦhe is goingὑπάγει.
36Whileὡςtheτὸlightφῶςyou haveἔχετε,believeπιστεύετεinεἰςtheτὸlightφῶς,so thatἵναsonsυἱοὶof lightφωτὸςyou may becomeγένησθε.These thingsΤαῦταspokeἐλάλησενJesusἸησοῦς,andκαὶhaving gone awayἀπελθὼνHe was hiddenἐκρύβηfromἀπ’themαὐτῶν.
37So manyτοσαῦταhoweverδὲof Himαὐτοῦsignsσημεῖαhaving been doneπεποιηκότοςbeforeἔμπροσθενthemαὐτῶνnotοὐκthey believedἐπίστευονinεἰςHimαὐτόν,
38so thatἵναtheὁwordλόγοςof IsaiahἨσαΐουtheτοῦprophetπροφήτουmight be fulfilledπληρωθῇthatὃνsaidεἶπεν·LordΚύριε,whoτίςhas believedἐπίστευσενtheτῇreportἀκοῇof usἡμῶν;Andκαὶtheὁarmβραχίωνof [the] Lordκυρίουto whomτίνιhas been revealedἀπεκαλύφθη;
39Because ofδιὰthisτοῦτοnotοὐκthey were ableἠδύναντοto believeπιστεύεινforὅτιagainπάλινsaidεἶπενIsaiahἨσαΐας·
40He has blindedΤετύφλωκενof themαὐτῶνtheτοὺςeyesὀφθαλμοὺςandκαὶhas hardenedἐπώρωσενof themαὐτῶνtheτὴνheartκαρδίαν,thatἵναnotμὴthey should seeἴδωσινwith theτοῖςeyesὀφθαλμοῖςandκαὶunderstandνοήσωσινwith theτῇheartκαρδίᾳandκαὶturnστραφῶσιν,andκαὶI will healἰάσομαιthemαὐτούς.
41These thingsταῦταsaidεἶπενIsaiahἨσαΐαςbecauseὅτιhe sawεἶδενtheτὴνgloryδόξανof Himαὐτοῦ,andκαὶspokeἐλάλησενconcerningπερὶHimαὐτοῦ.
42NeverthelessὅμωςindeedμέντοιevenκαὶofἐκtheτῶνrulersἀρχόντωνmanyπολλοὶbelievedἐπίστευσανinεἰςHimαὐτόν,butἀλλὰon account ofδιὰtheτοὺςPhariseesΦαρισαίουςnotοὐχthey were confessingὡμολόγουνso thatἵναnotμὴput out of the synagogueἀποσυνάγωγοιthey might beγένωνται,
43they lovedἠγάπησανforγὰρtheτὴνgloryδόξαντῶνof menἀνθρώπωνmoreμᾶλλονthanἤπερtheτὴνgloryδόξαντοῦof Godθεοῦ.
44JesusἸησοῦςthenδὲcried outἔκραξενandκαὶsaidεἶπεν·The [one]ὉbelievingπιστεύωνinεἰςMeἐμὲnotοὐbelievesπιστεύειinεἰςMeἐμὲbutἀλλὰinεἰςthe [One]τὸνhaving sentπέμψαντάMeμε,
45andκαὶthe [one]ὁbeholdingθεωρῶνMeἐμὲbeholdsθεωρεῖthe [One]τὸνhaving sentπέμψαντάMeμε.
46Iἐγὼa lightφῶςintoεἰςtheτὸνworldκόσμονhave comeἐλήλυθα,so thatἵναeveryoneπᾶςὁbelievingπιστεύωνinεἰςMeἐμὲinἐνtheτῇdarknessσκοτίᾳnotμὴshould abideμείνῃ.
47Andκαὶifἐάνanyoneτίςof Meμουhearsἀκούσῃtheτῶνwordsῥημάτωνandκαὶnotμὴkeeps [them]φυλάξῃ,Iἐγὼnotοὐdo judgeκρίνωhimαὐτόν,notοὐforγὰρI cameἦλθονthatἵναI might judgeκρίνωtheτὸνworldκόσμονbutἀλλ’thatἵναI might saveσώσωtheτὸνworldκόσμον.
48The [one]ὁrejectingἀθετῶνMeἐμὲandκαὶnotμὴreceivingλαμβάνωνtheτὰwordsῥήματάof Meμουhasἔχει[one]τὸνjudgingκρίνονταhimαὐτόν·TheὁwordλόγοςwhichὃνI spokeἐλάλησαthatἐκεῖνοςwill judgeκρινεῖhimαὐτὸνinἐνtheτῇlastἐσχάτῃdayἡμέρᾳ·
49ForὅτιIἐγὼfromἐξMyselfἐμαυτοῦnotοὐκspokeἐλάλησα,butἀλλ’theὁhaving sentπέμψαςMeμεFatherπατὴρHimselfαὐτόςMeμοιa commandmentἐντολὴνgaveδέδωκενwhatτίI should sayεἴπωandκαὶwhatτίI should speakλαλήσω.
50AndκαὶI knowοἶδαthatὅτιtheἡcommandmentἐντολὴof Himαὐτοῦlifeζωὴeternalαἰώνιόςisἐστιν.WhatἃthereforeοὖνIἐγὼspeakλαλῶ,asκαθὼςhas saidεἴρηκένto MeμοιtheὁFatherπατήρ,soοὕτωςI speakλαλῶ.
