2 Peter 2

1There wereἘγένοντοhoweverδὲalsoκαὶfalse prophetsψευδοπροφῆταιamongἐνtheτῷpeopleλαῷ,asὡςalsoκαὶamongἐνyouὑμῖνthere will beἔσονταιfalse teachersψευδοδιδάσκαλοι,whoοἵτινεςwill stealthily introduceπαρεισάξουσινheresiesαἱρέσειςdestructiveἀπωλείας,evenκαὶtheτὸνhaving boughtἀγοράσανταthemαὐτοὺςMasterδεσπότηνdenyingἀρνούμενοι,bringing uponἐπάγοντεςthemselvesἑαυτοῖςswiftταχινὴνdestructionἀπώλειαν·

2Andκαὶmanyπολλοὶwill follow afterἐξακολουθήσουσινtheirαὐτῶνταῖςsensualityἀσελγείαις,throughδι’whomοὓςtheἡwayὁδὸςof theτῆςtruthἀληθείαςwill be malignedβλασφημηθήσεται·

3Andκαὶthroughἐνcovetousnessπλεονεξίᾳwith fabricatedπλαστοῖςwordsλόγοιςyouὑμᾶςthey will exploitἐμπορεύσονται·for whomοἷςtheτὸjudgmentκρίμαof long agoἔκπαλαιnotοὐκis idleἀργεῖ,andκαὶtheἡdestructionἀπώλειαof themαὐτῶνnotοὐslumbersνυστάζει.

4IfΕἰforγὰρὁGodθεὸς[the] angelsἀγγέλωνhaving sinnedἁμαρτησάντωνnotοὐκsparedἐφείσατο,butἀλλὰchainsσειραῖςof gloomy darknessζόφουhaving cast [them] down to Tartarusταρταρώσαςdelivered [them]παρέδωκενforεἰςjudgmentκρίσινbeing keptτηρουμένους,

5andκαὶ[the] ancientἀρχαίουworldκόσμουnotοὐκHe sparedἐφείσατο,butἀλλὰone of eightὄγδοονNoahΝῶεof righteousnessδικαιοσύνηςa heraldκήρυκαpreservedἐφύλαξεν,[the] flood uponκατακλυσμὸν[the] worldκόσμῳof [the] ungodlyἀσεβῶνhaving brought inἐπάξας,

6andκαὶ[the] citiesπόλειςof SodomΣοδόμωνandκαὶGomorrahΓομόρραςhaving reduced to ashesτεφρώσαςto destructionκαταστροφῇHe condemned [them]κατέκρινεν,an exampleὑπόδειγμαof what is coming onμελλόντων(to be) ungodlyἀσεβέσινhaving setτεθεικώς,

7andκαὶrighteousδίκαιονLotΛὼτbeing distressedκαταπονούμενονbyὑπὸtheτῆςof theτῶνlawlessἀθέσμωνinἐνsensualityἀσελγείᾳconductἀναστροφῆςHe rescuedἐρρύσατο—

8through seeingβλέμματιforγὰρandκαὶhearingἀκοῇthatὁrighteous [man]δίκαιοςdwellingἐγκατοικῶνamongἐνthemαὐτοῖςdayἡμέρανafterἐξdayἡμέραςin [his] soulψυχὴνrighteousδικαίανwith [their] lawlessἀνόμοιςdeedsἔργοιςwas tormentedἐβασάνιζεν—

9[then] knowsοἶδεν[the] Lordκύριος[the] devoutεὐσεβεῖςout ofἐκtemptationπειρασμοῦto deliverῥύεσθαι,[the] unrighteousἀδίκουςthenδὲuntoεἰς[the] dayἡμέρανof judgmentκρίσεωςbeing punishedκολαζομένουςto keepτηρεῖν,

10especiallyμάλισταthenδὲthoseτοὺςafterὀπίσω[the] fleshσαρκὸςinἐν[the] passionἐπιθυμίᾳof defilementμιασμοῦwalkingπορευομένουςandκαὶauthorityκυριότητοςdespisingκαταφρονοῦντας.BoldΤολμηταί,self-willedαὐθάδεις,glorious onesδόξαςnotοὐthey trembleτρέμουσιν,blasphemingβλασφημοῦντες,

11whereasὅπουangelsἄγγελοιin strengthἰσχύϊandκαὶpowerδυνάμειgreaterμείζονεςbeingὄντεςnotοὐdo bringφέρουσινagainstκατ’themαὐτῶνa revilingβλάσφημονjudgmentκρίσιν.

12Theseοὗτοιhoweverδέ,likeὡςirrationalἄλογαanimalsζῷαhaving been bornγεγεννημέναas creatures of instinctφυσικὰforεἰςcaptureἅλωσινandκαὶdestructionφθοράν,inἐνwhatοἷςthey are ignorant ofἀγνοοῦσινblasphemingβλασφημοῦντες,inἐνtheτῇdestructionφθορᾷof themαὐτῶνalsoκαὶwill be destroyedφθαρήσονται,

13suffering wrongἀδικούμενοι[as the] wageμισθὸνof unrighteousnessἀδικίας·[as] pleasureἡδονὴνesteemingἡγούμενοιτὴνinἐνdaytimeἡμέρᾳcarousalτρυφήν,blotsσπίλοιandκαὶblemishesμῶμοιrevelingἐντρυφῶντεςinἐνtheταῖςdeceptionsἀπάταιςof themαὐτῶνfeasting withσυνευωχούμενοιyouὑμῖν,

14eyesὀφθαλμοὺςhavingἔχοντεςfullμεστοὺςof adulteryμοιχαλίδοςandκαὶunceasingἀκαταπαύστουςfrom sinἁμαρτίας,enticingδελεάζοντεςsoulsψυχὰςunestablishedἀστηρίκτους,a heartκαρδίανhaving been exercisedγεγυμνασμένηνin cravingπλεονεξίαςhavingἔχοντες,of a curseκατάραςchildrenτέκνα,

15Having leftκαταλιπόντες[the] straightεὐθεῖανwayὁδὸνthey have gone astrayἐπλανήθησαν,having followedἐξακολουθήσαντεςin theτῇwayὁδῷτοῦof BalaamΒαλαὰμτοῦBeorΒοσὸρwhoὃς[the] wageμισθὸνof unrighteousnessἀδικίαςlovedἠγάπησεν

16reproofἔλεγξινhoweverδὲhe hadἔσχενfor his ownἰδίαςtransgressionπαρανομίας·[by] a donkeyὑποζύγιονmuteἄφωνονinἐνa man’sἀνθρώπουvoiceφωνῇhaving spokenφθεγξάμενονit restrainedἐκώλυσενtheτὴνof theτοῦprophetπροφήτουmadnessπαραφρονίαν.

17TheseΟὗτοίareεἰσινspringsπηγαὶwithout waterἄνυδροιandκαὶmistsὁμίχλαιbyὑπὸstormλαίλαποςbeing drivenἐλαυνόμεναι,for whomοἷςὁgloomζόφοςτοῦof darknessσκότουςhas been reservedτετήρηται.

18Arrogantὑπέρογκαforγὰρof vanityματαιότητοςspeaking wordsφθεγγόμενοιthey enticeδελεάζουσινwithἐν[the] passionsἐπιθυμίαιςof [the] fleshσαρκὸςto sensualityἀσελγείαιςthoseτοὺςbarelyὀλίγωςescapingἀποφεύγονταςfrom thoseτοὺςinἐνerrorπλάνῃlivingἀναστρεφομένους,

19freedomἐλευθερίανthemαὐτοῖςpromisingἐπαγγελλόμενοι,themselvesαὐτοὶslavesδοῦλοιbeingὑπάρχοντεςτῆςof corruptionφθορᾶς·By whatᾧforγάρanyoneτιςhas been subduedἥττηται,by thatτούτῳalsoκαὶhe is enslavedδεδούλωται.

20Ifεἰforγὰρhaving escapedἀποφυγόντεςtheτὰpollutionsμιάσματαof theτοῦworldκόσμουthroughἐν[the] knowledgeἐπιγνώσειof theτοῦLordκυρίουandκαὶSaviorσωτῆροςJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦin theseτούτοιςnowδὲagainπάλινhaving been entangledἐμπλακέντεςthey are subduedἡττῶνται,has becomeγέγονενto themαὐτοῖςtheτὰlast [state]ἔσχαταworseχείροναthan theτῶνfirstπρώτων.

21Betterκρεῖττονforγὰρit would have beenἦνfor themαὐτοῖςnotμὴto have knownἐπεγνωκέναιtheτὴνwayὁδὸντῆςof righteousnessδικαιοσύνηςthanἢhaving known [it]ἐπιγνοῦσινto have turnedὑποστρέψαιfromἐκtheτῆςhaving been deliveredπαραδοθείσηςto themαὐτοῖςholyἁγίαςcommandmentἐντολῆς·

22Has happenedσυμβέβηκενto themαὐτοῖςthe thingτὸof theτῆςtrueἀληθοῦςproverbπαροιμίας·A dogΚύωνhaving returnedἐπιστρέψαςtoἐπὶ[its]τὸownἴδιονvomitἐξέραμα,andκαί·A sowὟςhaving washedλουσαμένηto [her]εἰςrolling placeκυλισμὸνin [the] mireβορβόρου.
